Miele W830 / W820 machine not commencing cycle (ie filling) on some Program Settings

G'day Folks

I have Miele W830 (same as a W820 in Europe though unsure of the US equiv.) Washing Machine that's approximately 17 years old and is now not starting it's cycle (ie does not commence filling) on some Program Settings, but is ok on others. The machine starts correctly in the following positions:

- In the 'Cottons' programs the 70,80&90 deg C positions work (not 30,40,50&60)
- In the 'Minimum Iron' programs the 40,50&60 work (not 30)
- In the 'Delicates' programs only the Cold works (not 30,40,50&60)
- In the 'Woolens' programs only 40 works (not Cold & 30)
- None of Starch, Spin, Drain & Quick Wash programs work

They didn't all fail simultaneously & there seemed to be some indeterminacy when the failures began to occur (a few months ago).

I have taken out the electronic control module (from behind the front panel) & cleaned the selector switch contacts with Deoxit (though you can't get to the inside of the switch the spray would have penetrated) & have buzzed the contacts which seem ok. I'm assuming the problem is with this selector/control module, but the failure mode does seem odd.

Has anyone got any ideas on fault finding to help narrow the problem down? – I know there's another larger PCB behind the front section as I opened it up a few years ago to change the shocks. Is there a service manual out there somewhere?

Thanks in advance
Gavin

Washer has worked flawlessly since purchase approximately 11 years ago. No the barrel seems to wobble and sounds like it is about to blow apart due to spin cycle sounding unbalanced. Can anyone identify the probable issue and remedy? It looks like the actual Model number is #110.44921301

WM2050CW LG Washer - Can turn screw on back panel of washer

I'm trying to replace the shock absorber on my LG front loader. Well, I didn't get very far. I can't seem to turn the screws on the back panel. The Phillips screwdriver fits into the screw just fine but it won't turn. Tried it with 3 of them. What am I doing wrong? Time to call a professional?

Maytag 2000 series front load washer

Good day guys,
Over last few months, we had a couple wash cycles finish with clothes still wet as if the high speed spin didn't kick in.
But this has only happened a hand full of times over the a total of 60-100 cycles. I noticed I have a scraping noise
coming from my washer when I spin the tub ( by hand) and thinking it was going to be the bearings.
I took machine apart and when I did, I noticed the noise was coming from around the drive motor. When I took the belt off,
the noise pretty much diminished. When I put belt back on the noise starts again. Belt seems to be in good shape,
but it is six years old. Is this the belt making the noise or is this the drive motor beginning to go bad. When I spin motor
by hand its pretty quiet when belt is off, when belt is on.. not so much. Thank-You

Front Loader Door Won't latch

My Maytag Front Load Neptune Model# MAH6700AWW will not latch, it is giving a DS code, had to slam the door quite hard for the last few years, and also the machine stopped running just before that and is buzzing with a ND code, after reading Jake's reply (thank you for the helpful info) to another member it sounds like it is the drain pump might be stuck.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

What is this?

Can someone identify this part please? I have a matching dryer that the part could be from, but I doubt it. I'm not even 100% certain it's off our washer, but it sure looks suspicious. The design looks like it hooks to something and the spring applies tension to possibly seal something. I am suspect of it because the bottom of the washer is exposed. Any help would be appreciated. This thing is not even 2 years old.

Thanks

ADMIN- Maybe move this to the Maytag section? Sorry if I messed that up.

Roper Washer weak agitator

My Roper Wash Model# RTW4340SQ0 agitator motion is week. It seems to agitate slow as it moves around the tub in the wash cycle. It moves back and forth but only slightly. The top portion of the agitator is working properly. Last August I replaced the following parts: Clutch Part#285785, Drive Block part# 389140, Agitator Repair Kit (dogs) part # 80040.

The Dogs are in good shape. The drive block looks good but I was able to tighten it up some. The clutch hasn't been inspected as of yet, but the machine runs through all the cycle properly spin, drain, etc.

I pulled the agitator and the splines look ok however I can't get my hand inside it to feel the splines. I ran a screw driver over them and they seem rigid. The transmission shaft turns back and forth without the agitator on it. However with the agitator on the shaft and a small cycle load in the washer I was able to place a tool against the agitator while it was running and the agitator stops but I can hear the transmission moving.

My question is the transmission suppose to stop agitating when it gets put in a bind or should it have kept agitating? Could I have a stripped transmission? Or is there something else I need to check?
Thanks, all help is welcomed.

Maytag Bravos XL drive shaft stuck

So I have a Maytag Bravos XL. The bearing went out. Easy fix I thought. I ordered the kit and started the repair.
I can't for the life of me pound out the drive shaft from the tub. I've check and double checked. It's should come out. I tried letting some WD40 soak on it an still won't budge. Has anyone ever had this issue or know a way to get this super stuck shaft out? Right now my laundry room is a mess of parts and I'd like to get this fixed asap.

WF364BVBGWR Samsung washer not getting water, no error codes

I'm getting some strange behavior with my Samsung front load washer. Yesterday we did a load in it, checked the clothes and they were perfectly dry, the washer went through it's entire cycle with no water and no error codes.

I tried restarting it, you could hear the pump start for a few seconds, then stop and the washer would start it's cycle as if nothing was wrong. I cleaned the filter on the bottom front, even thought I had recently done it, but it was unobstructed and it made no difference. Then I moved the drain hose up and down a couple of times and could hear water gurgling and the hose felt heavy. I tried starting it again and away it went, filled with water and did the load, there was no water left at the end of the cycle so it drained ok.

The next load I had to go through the same exercise, wiggling the drain hose seemed to free something up and it would fill with water, if I didn't the pump would go on for a few seconds, but pump no water, and the washer would continue on as if normal, again no error codes show up.

I thought if there was a drainage block it would give an error code of some sort, and/or not drain properly. I just ran an empty cycle and had to do the same drain hose routine to get it to fill, it ran its cycle and finished with no issues.

Any ideas what is wrong and how to fix?

thanks in advance

Whirlpool making noises during spin - tub creaks if rotated manually

Hi all,
purchased this washer new from Sears in September 2013, recently during the spin cycles it makes a really loud squeaking sort of noise and then as the drum comes to a slow stop it makes a creaking noise. it only happens during the spin cycles. during the wash cycles the agitator is nice and quite and runs normal - the entire wash cycle completes Ok and clothes are washed. When empty, if I manually rotate the agitator it makes a creaking noise at every full turn or so.

Here is a link of what the washer sounds like during high speed:

Any ideas would be appreciated - Thanks!

Frigidaire Affinity Washer not draining/pausing mid-cycle

So I've already been a few rounds with this washer and am prepared for another LAST battle here. After replacing the main control panel, the water intake and the latch striker, I'm again faced with issues.

This time, the cycle stops midway through. And it seems as though it's at the point when it's about to go through its spin cycle. At first, it just paused for a while and would eventually spin. But now it seems as though it's stopped all that and just isn't functioning.

My first inclination given what I've read is that it's got a clogged drain. When I put it on spin cycle, I hear a hum...the water doesn't drain...the spin cycle doesn't start. But now I'm thinking maybe it's the drain pump. But maybe that hum is the pump simply not being able to pull water through the clog?

Now given the giant pain in the ass that it looks to be to replace this drain pump...or even get at the drain, I figured I'd ask around to see if anyone has any other thoughts as to what this might be as I slowly start to dismantle it. Or even better, if there's an easy way to get to said drain/ drain pump that doesn't involve removing the dryer that is on top of this machine, dismantling the front of it, and, well, the rest of the process to get at this area, which looks to be a pain in the ass so large that I'm already wanting to use this washer as a sparring partner.

Someone please. Help me prevent the swelling of my knuckles. I'm too old for this.

Maytag bravos x basket wont spin f7 e1

Hello, I have a Maytag bravos X washer model number MVWX700XL2 that won't spin. Codes f7 and e1 stored. Basket will not spin freely. Was able to agitate during manual test mode. Lid lock works properly. I ohmed shift actuator- 2456 ohms. Belt is OK. Feels like basket is jammed. Removed agitator and basket found no obstructions. Before this condition noticed on spin cycle very noisy. Similar to bad bearing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I think it's the gearbox/transmission but not 100%. Thank you

WM2050CW LG front loader out of balance

I recently purchased a used WM2050CW front loader. The tub frequently wobbles during the wash cycle. When it's really bad there is a noise. If I pause it and pull some of the clothes forward, that helps. But I have to do this over and over (or fear the washer is being damaged). Can I ignore this, fix it for a reasonable price, or did I buy a piece of junk? I generally do small loads.

Kenmore washer, not sure model, first time poster

Hey guys first time posting, I've got a kenmore top loading washer that doesn't seem to spin or agitate? I feel like it does both sometimes, but generally it doesn't work. The not spinning was what I first noticed because the clothes would come out wet, however if I ran it on a drain/spin cycle it would end up spinning, but not as well as it used to. That still seems to work, however I washed some towels and noticed they hadn't even been unfolded from how they were put in the washing machine. I decided to wash them again, and when it started to wash I went to look and the lock wasn't on which I had not seen before. So I took a peak inside and it was making noise but not agitating at all. Any idea whats going on? I have a video and will upload in just a second

Thanks!

Maytag Neptune - Washer will not spin: Prior Lr code, now Help code 8

During a cycle my washer stopped and displayed Lr for Locked Motor - Motor not being see by the control board. After taking out the clothes, draining, and starting over it runs a cycle without spinning, but does not display the Lr code.

I entered diagnostics mode cleared the excessive help and diagnostics codes, and ran a quick service cycle. The cycle would not finish, but kept displaying SC (Service Cycle).

Diagnostics Codes were empty, but the Help codes read code 8 (During start up the motor did not reach 10 rpm within 2 seconds - informative only).

I accessed Outboard Test, and tried Motor Control and nothing happened. Nothing showed up on Help or Diagnostic codes.

What should I check next? Is the motor control and motor gone?

Drain Standpipe under minimum width

I just picked up a brand new Whirlpool washer for my wife's Christmas gift.

Shop Whirlpool 4.3-cu ft High-Efficiency Top-Load Washer (White) at Lowes.com

I have a standpipe drain coming out of the floor, roughly 12" up. The manual states it should be at LEAST 2" x 39" minimum, and sadly, the pipe sticking out is only 1.25" x 12". I live in an apartment, and the previous connection was made and it was clamped down with no room for air to escape.

So, I purchased a 36" PVC, 36" x 1.25". It's now at the minimum height, with the drainage pipe sitting loosely inside of it. We decided to gamble and try it out on a smaller load and it went off without a problem. It seemed to drain fine.

Am I going to regret this? We're trying out a larger load now, hoping for the best.

I hear that in MA the regulation is at least 1.5" long. This house is very old and I fear for the worst.

Maytag washer won't spin on spin cycle.

Good afternoon, I have an issue with my washer and would like to verify the part I need. My diagnosis is bleak, after testing, I've been lead to main control. Whirlpool washer won't lock

I have a whirlpool w4800xq0 washer. I was having issues getting the washer to do anything. I was gifted this machine. I checked the error code and found that the error code showed the main controll board was not sensing the lid latch. I replaced the main controll board and got the washer to fill with water. That is where it stopped. No spin, no agitate. I tested the lid latch and it failed. I replaced the lid latch and still I get the failure. When I run the latch test all LED' S flash except the lock light. I cannot get the machine to spin or agitate and the lid latch never locks. The auto test will run all water tests but will not lock or spin. I'm out of ideas and nearly out of money. Any help is appreciated.

Whirpool ultimate care ii spin/agitator issues

So I've got a couple issues I'm dealing with on an old washing machine. Model number LSQ9110LW0. Machine was leaking and leaving water in the bottom of the drum after cycles. I replaced out the water pump that stop the leaking problem but the machine still wasn't spinning properly. I replace the drive couplers a couple years ago and bought another one just in case. The rubber connector was worn out very badly but all the teeth are still in good shape. Ran a wash cycle water moves out of the drum but will not go through a spin cycle. In doing this repair and poking around I also noticed that the agitator top was spinning back-and-forth. First question, is there an easy way to figure out whether it be the clutch that's broken to fix the spin cycle issue?I Do I just have to take the whole thing apart? Secondly, should the agitator be free to move back-and-forth in either direction? Both the top and the bottom of the agitator move freely. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated

BUT all of this works fine with old board. So why the E3 error when the new board installed. Called Samsung and aske for level 2 support. Told level 2 does not exist.

LG front loader main wash slow filling

Good morning this is my first post on this forum. I have an LG front loader model WM0642H. It is now seven years old. I have recently noticed that the main wash portion of the fill is doing so very slowly. The prewash fills normally, followed by the main wash which fills slowly. Whirlpool Washer Low Fill Issue

Hi

I am looking for any help I can get which will be very much appreciated. I am about at the end of my rope with this washer. I had to store my Whirlpool Cabrio washer in a storage unit while I moved to a new city (stayed in storage 2 years). Pulled the unit out of storage and hooked it up to find that the valve assembly had a crack in it (water all over floor was indicator! LOL). Must have froze in the winter. Replaced that part and all seemed fine but now my washer will not completely fill with water. It does not even get the cloths wet. So next I replaced the control panel and the unit still does the same thing. Pulled the back off the unit and watched the tub fill with about half a gallon of water then it starts to agitate. Cloths are completely dry except for a sprinkling of water. What else should I check OR replace on this unit? I am already $350 in and am getting to the point where I could have already replaced the unit and it is only about 5 years old!

Thanks for any help and guidance you can provide!

Samsung Washing Machine - Always in draining mode?

Apologies for my terminology as this isn't my profession but wanting to try fix my washing machine:eagerness:

As soon as I switch the washing machine on it starts to try drain water when there is no water in it. The Drain Motor activates and deactivates continuously which in turn pulls on a lever and then releases it and the water pump is constantly on.

If I try a rinse/spin cycle it tries to fill up with water but because it continuously trying to drain it just pumps it out.

Any thought as to what this might be?:encouragement:

Am I able to upload a video? If so I can make one.

Maytag MAH5500BWW motor control board resistor values R20, R21, R30, R31, R40 & R31

What are the resistor values for the R20, R21, R30, R31, R40, and R41? There are 5 color bands. I think they are Red, Violet, Black, Silver and Brown. This gives you a value of 2.7 Ohms. However, when I measure the value of the resistor when I take it off the board, it shows to be 0.4 Ohms. Please help.

WF431ABW/XAA Samsung Front Loader Leaking Only On Cold Cycle

Hello everyone,

I have a Samsung Front Loader Washer (WF431ABW/XAA). One of those new Steam Wash models. Just inherited from my friend who says it was purchased new 4 years ago. No warranty to speak of.

About a week ago, I noticed water pooling in the rear of the unit about a pint per regular cycle, BUT ONLY ON COLD WATER (and of course a little on warm water). I took the rear panel off and could only see water dripping from the bottom of the motor during fills. After taking off the top panel, I couldn't find any leaks from any of the intakes or anywhere else. I was just wondering if anyone else has seen this kind of issue or has any ideas.

Thanks.

WT5001CW LG Top Load will not power on

LG Top Loader was working fine until the other day. Went to push on the "Power Button", got nothing. No Lights, no nothing. Serial 102KWTA04561. Unit is plugged in properly, power is at the outlet. Power on is a "pressure sensitive" type switch. What could be wrong, that it just won't start up?

Water dripping into drum when not in use

Maytag Neptune front loader: Water drips into drum from the water spout when not being used. It's a slow drip and will take several days to accumulate in the bottom of the drum. I have not turned off the power or shut the water off, nor conducted any trouble shooting. I suspect it's a rubber seal of some sort but seeking advice.

Ge washer issues

Ge profile PTWN6050M0WT washer. It fills and drains but doesn't agitate or spin. I pulled the pump apart and found metal bits inside but everything seems ok and it's pumping. I also ohmed out everything I can I think. Lid switch is good. Should I change the motor or could the control boards be bad. Is there a test?

Haier HLP21N pump help generic question

Haier Washing Machine Model HLP21N Parts

OK the machine stopped pumping the water, I dunno if that was due to the stinky water in the rotor part or something else, but would like the answer to two questions, because after I measured the coil emptied the stinky water it worked again.
Well could have been something else that was loose. But here's my 2 questions:
What kinda grease could I use to keep the water out if the impeller magnet side in future,
2.all the hoses have some brownish glue like residue would like to ensure it does not leak in future so I would need to know what that glue/sealant is don't want to choose the wrong stuff and eat away at the plastic pump casing or the black hose from the drum or grey hose to the sink.
Help would be appreciated

Kenmore HE3t washer F11 and door lock errors

Initially just had an F11 error at different times during cycle. After watching this video Troubleshooting and Repairing the F11 Error Code in a Whirlpool Duet Washer - YouTube a friend added some solder to the pads on the control board and things worked fine for some time. Recently got a door lock error at the start of the cycle and replaced the door switch but that did not fix the problem. However, a gentle tap on the central control unit and the error cleared and washer started fine so wondered if a relay on the board may be going. 2 minutes from the end of the cycle the F11 error code came up again which eventually cleared and the cycle finished. Are both the door lock and F11 errors likely the result of a problem with the central control unit?

WM2016CW LG Front Load Washer - mystery housing squeak-creak?

Below is a link to a video of this very annoying sound my (under 4 yr old) LG Front Load Washer is making. The machine is well balanced, the dryer is sitting on top and this just started happening. The video shows the high speed spin cycle version of it, and I am able to silence it by pressing my palm on the lower right hand corner of the front case, not with great force. Slower speed spin ups and downs, its more of a creak that echoes the more pronounced deflection of the drum left and right. It sounds like a bad weld that has come loose... no idea? Anyone out there tackled this issue already? Many thanks in advance.

Bosch Vision 500 Washer not taking softener

I have a Bosch Vision 500 front loading washer. It has not been taking softener. Otherwise, it works fine. I first cleaned the siphon tube inside the detergent / softener drawer. Did not work. Then, I did cleanup the water holes inside the dispenser drawer, but they were already clean. Still did not work. Then replaced the cold water intake valve. Still not working. Any ideas what to look for next? It is probably unlikely that the new part is defective. So, not sure what to look for.

WT5070CW LG Waveforce (top loader) leaking - and I can't figure out where

I have a LG Waveforce washing machine (WT5070CW - I think), and I'm getting a leak from a strange place (please see attached pic) when water's being added to the tub, but usually at the end - and it's a decent amount. I've checked the little drawer where you add your detergent (we only use liquid), and it's completely clean both inside the drawer and behind/under it.

Can anyone please give me a clue as to what is causing this leak? I'm honestly stuck, and I don't know where else to check.

Thanks in advance,

Siemens F16 Door Code

Hi,

My Siemens washer is giving an F16 error code which means door not closed properly. However the door is definitely closed. I have replaced the locking mechanism and cleared the error code but I am still getting the same error code again when I try to run a cycle. I can also hear that the lock is not engaging.

What else could the issue be?

Thanks M

Whirlpool WFW95HEDC Duet - Pump turns on, that's it...

I have a Whirlpool WFW95HEDC 4.5 cu. ft. Duet® Front-Load Washer which is about 1.5 years old.
Yesterday it started making rapid charm noises from the front panel and the display said Error (no error code). Turned it off and back on.

Now when I turn it on, the drain pump turns on and nothing happens on the display except the "Door Locked' flashes.
I manually unlocked the door and that light turned off. Now when it is plugged in, the pump goes on and I get no lights on the front. Tried holding, pressing, every combination of every button to get something to happen - nothing.

This happened right before a big storm, not sure if a power surge was possible?

I am thinking I need to replace the main board. But wow, that is the stupidest spot to replace. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions???

Maytag Neptune Code 23, Fails to Stop Spin Cycle

SN: A2952759CC.

I have researched this model and its many inherent problems, and studied the repair manual. However, my problem doesn't seem to correspond with the common issues.

The washer seems to cycle appropriately, and perform all fill, wash, rinse, and spin functions. However, it hangs at the end of each spin cycle, and does not shut off. It continues to spin, and hangs with 1 minute left on the display. The only way to end the cycle, is to interrupt it manually, (pause or stop the machine) and then unlock the door with the pull-string.

I have run diagnostics, and the only error code that continually appears is "23," which is the "door failed to unlock" warning. Indeed, the door fails to unlock, and that seems to be why the spin cycle won't terminate.

I ran the "short cycle" diagnostic, and had the same outcome. It hangs on the spin, and never completes the test, and gives the "23" error.

Please note: this model has a solenoid door-latch control, not a wax motor. I tested the micro switch beside the solenoid, and it appears to be working.

Any help you can provide would be very much appreciated.

WF306BHW/XAA Samsung Frontloader Error Code ND

I have a Samsung front loading washer that began displaying the ND error code about a month ago. I cleaned out the pump and the hoses and that didn't fix the problem. I replaced the pump (after verifying power was reaching it) and that didn't work either. I finally called a repair person who looked at the circuit schematic and said that the noise filter might be a problem so I replaced that. The machine still won't drain. He also switched out the door switch to verify that wasn't the problem.

Now the washer won't drain or even display the ND error code. It just kind of sits there full of water, waiting. I just took a look at the motherboard and nothing looks "fried." So I really just have no idea what could be wrong at this point.

Does anyone have any idea of what else the problem might be? Thanks in advance!

WF364BVBGWR/A2 Has anyone managed to get a Samsung front loader leveled/balanced?

Bought this about a year and a half ago to replace my 12 year old Kenmore.

I've never been able to find the sweet spot for this thing when leveling, no matter what, at the start of the spin cycle when it's still at relatively low RPM and just starting to build up speed, it'll do a dozen or so rotations that will cause the machine to lurch a few inches to the left. Then once the speed starts building up it's pretty smooth, even at full speed you have to look closely to see it moving, it's that smooth.

There's also a thumping (not quite a banging) noise during these rotations that make it lurch like it does.

I googled this and some suggested leaving the back a bit lower, but that didn't work. Today I pulled it out again and this time set the adjusting screws as close to the body (lowering the washer) as I could, as they were about 1.5" high before and the initial shaking seemed to be getting worse. I got them all so there's only a couple of threads showing between them and the locking plastic wheel, and when I pushed the machine back in its place there is zero rocking and reads pretty well perfectly level side to side, back to front and corner to corner. Still, when it's building speed for that spin cycle it does the same lurching when it hits that certain speed, then smooths out. Even with it level the front of the machine moves a good 1-2 inches to the left before it smooths out. As before, once speed is built up its fine.

For now I put a foam block between it and the wall on the left side, that stops the machine from moving over, but I shouldn't have to be doing that IMO.

I was wondering about the shocks or dampers inside, but it's very smooth once it's hit a certain RPM, and it's also done this since day 1.

I'll try and post a video of it tomorrow, I'm hoping maybe someone has some ideas that'll help eliminate this.

thanks in advance.

Adding an external drain pump to washer

Hi everyone,

I have a washer located in the basement, and the lift from the machine to the drain outlet is about 8 feet. I'm concerned that this is hard on the machines internal pump, and want to add an external pump that would help with the lift. Can anyone suggest what type of pump I need and where I would find one? Anyone had any experience with this type of pump, if so I'd like to hear whether it works efficiently?

Thanks

Agitator will only spin when washer is empty

I have a GE washing machine that came with my house (unsure as to its age). I noticed recently that the agitator was barely moving. I replaced the agitator coupler with no success (the old one honestly was in pretty good shape). Both the top and bottom are failing to rotate, so the problem isn't the dogs. The belt below the machine seems to be in good shape. The spin cycle works completely fine.

The truly mystifying part to me is the agitator works fine when the machine is empty (filled with water but with no clothes inside). I've applied weight with my hands to the bottom of the tub and that doesn't seem to be the problem. I'm definitely not overfilling the tub. I was testing will a single small tablecloth.

When the tub has clothes in it and the agitator fails to move, I can rotate it and sometimes it seems to catch for a second before getting stuck again.

Please help! I'm so confused.

Kenmore top loader

I have a kenmore top loader that is about 10 yrs old and I've never changed the pump. I installed a new pump fsp? I believe that is oem and while there I decided to change motor coupler. I bought the upgraded one with the metal insert and found that it needed filed to fit the shaft properly. I didnt care for this but installed anyways. I also at this time installed a new set of agitator cogs. I removed the motor and blew out the dust with compressed air and reinstalled. Upon the first load of wash, I notice a very audible hum from the motor, never was there prior to the new parts. I thought it might be the new pump so I had another oem whirpool pump and changed it with same results. I replaced the coupler with the metal insert with a new old style version and still have the hum?? What could I have done by installing new cogs, pump and coupler to cause the hum? thanks for any replies.

Kenmore 110.20022011 washer agitating only in one direction...

Hi Folks. Washer at my parents' seems to be not working correctly. I only had time to look at it real quick on the way out. In agitate mode, after I stopped the washer and waited for the lid safety mechanism to release the lid so I could look inside, the water inside was swirling in one direction, which seems to indicate that the agitation is only occurring in one direction instead of back and forth. Additionally, instead of making the normal whir-whir-whir-whir-whir sound, it makes a whir-whirrrrrrrrrrrrrr-whir-whirrrrrrrrrrrrr sound. Washer seems to work fine otherwise. And there are no other noises such grinding, clunking, etc. that I have seen in other posts.

The obvious next step is to disable the lid safety when I am by there and watch the agitation, but I am pretty sure the agitation is only in one direction. So.....

Can this be anything other than the gearbox? And can the gearbox be repaired instead of the getting a new one?

Thanks!

LG WM2010CW Drainage Issue

Hello!

I'm in desperate need of some assistance. Many thanks in advance if you take the time to read/respond.

I have an LG WM2010CW Washing Machine. It won't drain. With a small load and while full of water (wouldn't drain,) I unplugged the machine for a bit and then plugged it back in. I then ran the Rinse/Spin cycle. The first thing it did was spin intermittently. Then, it fully drained. Then, it spun for a while. Then, filled back up and with 12min on the display, it stopped. The small light next to "high" was blinking and the beeper/rinse&spin buttons were illuminated. After about 10min or so, the 12min remaining on the display changed to error OE and the machine started beeping. It's now been about 40min and it still says OE on the display and it's still full of water.

I thought maybe a plugged drain filter/hose or a bad drain pump but it did drain during the rinse/spin cycle before filling back up.

Is there a way to do a master reset? Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

LG WT5001CW Spline on new clutch is the wrong size

I ordered a new wash plate a few years ago and it fit fine. I had to replace the clutch assy. recently. Ordered the part and installed. It started the UE code so I figured the splines was stripped again (common problem) When I removed the wash plate, I discovered the spline on the new clutch was much smaller than the old one. I called the part supplier and they don't have a clue. I've looked all over the web and can't find a pic of a large shaft like my old one. Anyone know whats going on? Was there an update and am I better off buying a new wash plate to fit this clutch? LG Washer WM2487HRMA Leaking out bottom front

I have a front load LG Washer Model Number: WM2487HRMA, serial Number 903KWDJ05042. That is leaking out the bottom, seems like mostly out the front. I haven't pulled out the unit yet as it seems like not a huge leak but still leaking a little, maybe a cup a water for each load.

Any ideas on where to start looking? I saw a video posted about a LG front loads were a water drain baffle/hose assembly wears out and can spring a leak. Could this be it? The leak seems to be located more towards the front as I can't see any water leaking out back.

Samsung washer WF448AAP/XAA Leak

Click image for larger version.  Name: washerT.jpg  Views: 11  Size: 235.3 KB  ID: 30234

I have a Samsung washer that has developed a small leak in the connector at the "T" in the drawer assembly. The replacement part looks the same but does not have the "T" section, its just straight through. Im guessing that the soap tray has also been redesigned but cant find any details. Also cannot find the exact replacement part anywhere. Please see attached. Anybody else seen this configuration? If so, is there a conversion kit or something?

Thanks

Washer will not agitate or spin

This is my first post, so don't be too hard on me. I have a Whirlpool Top Load Washer, model WTW5000DW0, that is only 14 months old. The washer will not agitate during the wash cycle nor spin during the spin cycle. It does drain, but the cloths are wet and there is still water in the bucket. I just noticed that I could open the lid during the wash cycle. I don't think that I was able to do that before. I know that there could be a number of things wrong (i.e. motor, lid lock, control board, etc.). How do I check each of these various things to eliminate them as the problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Maytag Legacy washing machine timer sticks

My Maytag washer timer sticks at the heavy point in the cycle. It will advance normally from super wash to heavy, the agitator continues to run, but the timer will not advance. If I manually advance the timer to just pass the heavy cycle, the timer runs normally. The washer and timer will run correctly in all other parts of the cycle. The timer just stops advancing at heavy. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Kenmore washer fills but won't wash

Say fellas, My second wife (wife's best friend) asked me to try to fix her washer. It's a Kenmore 2110 so she says. She puts her clothes and detergent in and closes the lid. Then sets the cycle, load size and temp. Presses start. There is clicking and humming. She says it takes a long time for the washer to start filling. After it fills the light comes on to wash. It clicks and hums and then does nothing with the green wash light lit. Sits there forever. I've fixed washers before but I'm thinking this one has some electronics in it since there are light indicators. Any advice for me before I go to her place and take the back off on what to look for? Does the long pausing between fill and wash mean anything? Thanks guys in advance for any help.

Washer won't drain

Drain pump never comes on during cycle. I've done the following tests:

In pump test mode, nothing happens, except an LED comes on.
Applied 115V directly to pump using test cord: Pump runs.
Voltage measured at pump during test mode: 0V
Ohms measured at control board connectors: 15 ohms.

I'm thinking the control board isn't putting out.

Canadian Admiral Washer - noisy while in spin cycle

My old Admiral washer works mostly but it has started making a loud noise while in spin cycle - It sounds like a grating noise - not harsh metallic sound but maybe plastic ? . I have disassembled it completely( the mechanical components) cleaned and reassembled it and no change. the clutch seems OK, I opened the gearbox and there is no wear I could see( no pieces in the oil )gears all looked good at a glance. I checked how the shaft turned when I rotate gearbox drive clockwise and counter clockwise. I took the tub off - it was very dirty so I cleaned it up. Not sure how to check brake for wear , etc. I assembled it again without replacing anything . I have a short video of the noisy spin cycle but as I am new to this forum I have not figured out how to post a video clip( if I can?) It might help to hear what it is doing. I checked some posts re spin issues and there is a lot of helpful info here - best I could see is that I might have an issue in the basket drive - not sure how I would check that.

Could not find my Admiral Model on line for a parts breakout, but mine looks a lot like what I find online for an Inglis IP44000. Even Whirlpool units are similar - I guess made in the same factory?

Any helpful advice is appreciated. Thanks

washer not draining

My washing machine is not draining. I took off the front panel (after taking out the wet clothes and dipping out the water) and took off the rubber "boot" that goes to what I assume is the pump, to check and see if it was stopped up. (that happened once when I washed a rug with a rubber backing that came off and dissolved into a thousand bits). It was not stopped up and I also checked the discharge hose to make sure it wasnt stopped up. I then unscrewed what I assumed was the pump (the little black box thingy) that the discharge hose and rubber "boot" were hooked to, and turned on the washer to drain to see if I could tell if it was working. The "fan" thing spins but it doesnt appear to pump water. I hooked it all back up and turned the washer on and off, plugged and unplugged the pump, and hit it with pliers a couple times. It started working again so I put on another load of clothes and it quit pumping halfway thru the cycle. I fiddled with it some more and it pumped for just a few seconds, just long enough to get half the water out, then stopped pumping again. Nothing I could do after that would get it going. The "fan blade" thing still turns but thats all. Do you think that little black box thingy (the pump?)is the problem and is it easily, cheaply replaced? This washer is 14 or so yrs old so wasnt sure if I should just give up and get another?

Samsung Front loader keeps tripping GFI circuit

I have a Samsung front loader. The Washer will intermittently trip the Ground Fault Interrupter circuit that the washer is plugged into. Does anyone have any idea what is likely causing this problem or how to go about diagnosing it?

The problem tends to occur most often on larger loads. Recently the GFI circuit is usually tripped during the cycle. Sometimes the washer completes the washing cycles. I haven't been able to determine yet whether there is a pattern to the problem. When the GFI is reset, the washer has always completed the load.

I realize that this problem may be very difficult to diagnose. Any suggestions?

filter/strainer causing E01 F09 error

I have a Whirlpool Duet washing machine, model WFW94HEXW2 that was getting E01 F09 error. The issue was the filter/strainer located in the front bottom of the machine needed cleaning. To do that the machine top, control panel and front needed to be removed.
My question is can I relocate the filter/strainer to the back? The unit has duplicate mounting holes in the rear for the filter. It appears that I can relocate the filter/strainer to the rear. To do this the power wires for the pump will need to be lengthened and the tub drains rubber boot needs to be rotated to point to the back.
That modification will allow the filter/strainer to be cleaned by only removing the back. Will this be possible?
Thank You

New Laundromat Owner having trouble with a SPEED QUEEN

So, a customer put a bunch of rugs in a top load speed queen washer. It stopped mid cycle. The belt seemed fine, but it wouldn't drain. After messing around with it, it started working out of the blue and finished its cycle. I thought maybe the lid switch got out of wack and I fixed it by messing with the lid? Put some more quarters in to test it, and it filled up with about an inch of water and did nothing else.

I'm a new laundromat owner, and was a stay at home mom before this, so I'm kinda clueless. Does anyone have any idea on how I could fix this? What might the issue be?

TIA!

LG Washer WT4870CW - Drain pump is on even when washer is turned off

Yesterday after the cycle was finished and the washer was emptied, the drain pump started to run. We turned off the washer and it kept running. When the unit was plugged back in the pump immediately started to run again, even with the washer turned off. I started a quick wash cycle to re-set the unit, however the drain pump was still on and pumped the water out as fast as it was being put into the drum.

LG support says that this is the first time they have heard of such an issue.

Can you please offer any thoughts on what to look within the unit?

Thanks for your time!!

Whirlpool duet wfw9150 wont Drain. Pump ok

Hi, I have a duet (second one) I replaced the pump mechanism on this a bit ago. Yesterday the washer was ready to drain and it starting the dreaded beep. The wash light blinked once then once again. So F1E1 error. I drained the washer and tested the pump knowing this is an issue with these. Bench tested the pump with 120V and it was fine. It seems I have a Control board error. When I try to start the drain cycle it clicks the door then clicks under on the MCU but the pump does not start. I think it is the MCU or relays, just looking for some guidance.

THANKS!!!

This is a Samsung washer and the only reason I am posting here is because I think Maytag is involved in at least some of the Samsung washers.

Thanks in advance of course.

Bosch Washer won't drain

I have a Bosch Nexxt series front load washer that is giving error code E13 and doesn't drain properly. I have opened the drain trap in the front and found a few coins and such. I cleared all that out, but the problem persists.

I then removed the drain tube on the back to see if it was blocked. Water flows freely through the tube, but when I stuck a finger into the pipe it is attached to on the back of the machine it seems fairly full of gunk.

Does this seem like the source of my problem, and if so, how can I clean it out? It doesn't appear to easily detach from the machine.

Samsung Washer WA5451ANW/XAA Lights ON, but does nothing - No error code

Hey everyone. I'm looking for a little assistance. All of my searches have brought me here :)

I have a Samsung WA5451ANW/XAA top load. I'm not getting any error code. it turns on, when i start a cycle, it just sits. After about 5-10 minutes you can smell that dreaded smell of something not quite right. I've killed the power to it.

In troubleshooting over the weekend, I decided I'd replace the most common problem and that was the door sensor switch. So, that didn't fix my problem.

I can power it up in test mode and everything works.
Spin test = pass (it spins up to 1034RPM)
Tst = Pass (tub spins and the bottom internal spinner does it's thing)
i can cycle through the water selections too.

I power it down and start back in normal mode, i select start, and nothing happens. the lights are on, the door locks, but nothing happens.

Is there a way to make the machine give me an error code?

Any assistance is appreciated. I haven't washed clothes since Friday. :( We're getting desperate.

LG Front Load Steam Washer Won't Turn On

Hi Everyone,

Recently my LG washer stopped turning on. After trying multiple things to figure out what is the problem (the breaker and outlet are ok) we realized the following.

1. If you unplug the machine from the outlet for at least around a minute, the washer will turn back on.
2. You can complete a whole load.
3. When the machine shuts off after the load is over, if you try to turn it on within say a minute it will turn back on.
4. If you wait longer than this the washer will not turn back on and then you need to resort to unplugging the machine to get the washer to power on again.
5. When you run the test mode there are no error codes returned.

I got a quote from an appliance repair person for $458 to replace the control board. :wall::wall::wall:

Mostly I just want to be sure this is the correct diagnosis to fix my problem. If anybody has more insight into what is going on that would be great. Thanks for all the help!

Samsung top load washer WA5471ABP - 3E error code

Top load samsung WA5471ABP, just out of warranty of course. Stopped working displayed a 3E error code. Initially while diagnosing problem i thought it was the hall sensor so I replaced it. Washer is still not working. Still throwing 3E error code during normal wash cycle, and now a 13E code while in service mode also, and the tub jerks back and forth but will not spin when in service mode. After trying that several times now nothing at all, except a faint electrical noise like the motor wants to go but nothing.

The replacement of the hall sensor seemed easy almost too easy, did I overlooking something? Or is there another problem. I did double check all electrical connections and bolts for tightness. During a normal wash cycle i can hear what sounds like the motor trying to turn but no results. I can move the tub freely with little effort, could there be some obstruction in the tub? I have not opened up the top. Thanks for any responses.

burned maytag

I have a maytag performance series 3000
Model # mhwe300vf00
Unfortunately my home was lost to fire due to my neighbors negligence. Both washer & dryer were involved, but mainly only cosmetic damage was done.
I've cleaned up both machines. They both had the problem of their buttons not returning after being pushed. I found that the control consoles had expanded & warped slightly. I removed both, separated the cover from the electronics & carefully relieved the button openings with a file. Now all buttons work properly & return after being pushed. The dryer works in all cycles properly, even though it's cosmetically seen better days.
On the other hand the washer doesn't. I've done the same to its console button openings as with the dryer. I connected both water lines & there are no leaks. Its plugged into a working 110 power source.
Nothing happens. No lights no beeps no noises no display no nothing.
I realize that trying to resurect this Phoenix from the ashes is alot to ask for, but the dryer ugly as it is works great.
I have a volt ohm meter & some electrical knowledge. Of anyone can give me some pointers on where & how I should go about testing the components & wires, I'd appreciate it.
Better yet if I could get a copy of the tech & trouble code/trouble shooting sheet like I found inside the dryer, that would really help me. Thanks for any input. I can't afford a service tech to come & over charge for parts & labor or just tell me to scrap it

Maytag Washer

My washer is stopping in mid cycle, the red door light goes out, I hit the start button again, and it will start again. After the last cycle the clothing is still soaking wet, and I have to do a drain and spin to get the water out. I checked the error codes and I had codes flashing that were not in the tech manual. I cleared the errors and did an automatic test, passed with no problem. I checked for errors again and no errors. I did the RPM test and Tachometer Verification Mode and no leds came on when I spun the basket by hand. Only the green "Done" led was on. After running a wash with an empty basket I get a F7E1 – BASKET SPEED SENSOR FAULT. I have been directed to the Optical Sensor. Is there a way that this sensor could be blocked by something (lint, ECT...) and cleaned?

LG washer - Teeth in the center of the rotor have eroded away

My front loader was not spinning and was making a grinding noise. The pump was still working so I replaced the stator and that fixed the problem.

Upon replacing the stator, I noticed that the teeth in the center of the rotor that align into the grooves of the tub shaft have eroded away. Does where the tub shaft's grooves and the rotor's teeth slide together help to grip and spin the tub? Or is that the job of the magnets.?

Like I said it's now spinning fine and the teeth in the center of new rotors look kind of weak and not fit to do the job of holding the the tub shaft to make it spin.

The teeth in the center of the rotor looks as if it's just to align the two parts together more than help them work like gears and turn each other but than again what do I know maybe the stripped center of the rotor is going to eventually ruin the stator again.

So, does anyone know if I need to replace the rotor?
