Whirlpool Washer Jerk/Wobble at Spin Full Speed Only

Hi All..

This washer is level, and works apart from a fairly pronounced periodic wobble that happens only once the basket reaches full speed, shown in this video (wobble starts about 15 seconds in):

Whirlpool Washer Spin Wobble - YouTube

Washer has a brand new inner tub/balance ring/drive block. I have already tried replacing the springs, stubber blocks, skate plate blocks and motor coupling. Nothing has made any difference to the issue.

The clutch seems good.. not getting hot in spin, other functions working correctly, etc. With basket removed shaft seems to spin fine with no noticeable vibration.

Anyone ever seen this particular type of periodic wobble at top speed?

TIA

Replacement for GE 27 in washer that will still stack with GE dryer

I have a stackable GE washer/dryer set. The washer on the bottom of the stack is a model WCXH208V0WW and the dryer on top is a model PSXH43EV0WW.

The dryer works great still, but unfortunately the washer has given up the ghost. I posted about my washer issues earlier and someone suggested buying a new washer. It still technically works for now, but it's extremely loud and the drum appears to be off it's guides or something.

Long story short, I'm now shopping for a replacement washer and that I'd like to get is an Electrolux 5.0 cu. ft. Front-Load Washer, EIFLS60JIW.

My question, however, is if it's possible to get the GE dryer to stack on top of the Electrolux washer.

Any help answering this question would be greatly appreciated!

Whirlpool Cabrio Model: WTW5640XW1; Drive Pulley & Shift Actuator Issues

I've got a Whirlpool Cabrio Top Load Washer with EcoBoost Model: WTW5640XW1 that I purchased back in Sept of 2011. The unit is used for 2-3 loads of laundry a week so it's not abused and they're typically not BIG loads either, although every once in awhile the loads are pretty large.

Below is a summary of the issues I've had with it:

Aug of 2013 - Washer wouldn't always go into spin cycle, replaced the shift actuator, since replacing it I've had no issues with it not shifting correctly

Mid 2014 - Nut on the drive pulley came off causing the drive pulley to drop down and damage the pulley cover as well; I reinstalled the drive pulley & nut as tight as I could

Early 2015 - Nut on the drive pulley loosened but I figured it out before it completely came off; I re-tightened the nut as tight as I could

May 2015 - Nut on the drive pulley loosened but I figured it out before it completely came off; I removed the drive pulley and looked at the plastic "spines" on the drive pulley piece itself and they looked a little bit rounded so I bought a new drive pulley and installed it and then used the red loctite thread locker on the nut this time so that the nut wouldn't come loose. I also replaced the damaged pulley cover figuring the issues wouldn't return

November 2015 - The unit started making a bad grinding noise during the spin cycle and the clothes we're not getting spun out. The drive pulley had enough play in it to damage the new pulley cover I had installed even though the nut had not loosened. After working some magic to get the nut off since I used the red loctite thread locker I discovered that the plastic splines in the new plastic pulley drive that I installed in May were completely ground down to nothing

I still have the original drive pulley that looked a bit rounded and can re-install it but I am wondering what keeps causing these issues and how I can fix the problem. All ideas are welcome. Thanks in advance for whatever insight you all can give me.

This is a picture of the drive pulley that keeps giving me issues - shown with the pulley cover removed.

MVWC6ESWW1 Maytag Centennial, 6 years old stop working.

MVWC6ESWW1 Maytag Centennial, 6 years old stop working.

When it got to the spin cycle, it would make a loud noise and after about 30 seconds stop. I replaced the clutch and the coupling looked fine, not broken or damaged. Everything else seems ok, gears look fine and not stripped, no loose particles or oil on floor. Water pump is free of anything that may block it. After replacing the clutch assembly, it continued to do the same. It washes until it gets to the spin cycle, I checked and it slowly turns and drains making the loud humming noise until it stops. I can get it going again but same thing happens. Also, the tub seems to shake more than it should. There was minimal oil out of the gear housing, not sure if that's normal but it wasn't leaking it was mostly me moving it around...I hope. Motor and transmission move freely, not making any funny noises. Everything else seemed ok.

I’m at loss, any ideas???

Matag Transmission Out of Balance?

New to this forum, so thanks in advance for any help.

I have been fixing appliances since I was a kid, working with my Dad, so I'm not a complete noob to this.
Great old machine that I expect to keep forever, as long as rebuild parts are available.
Over the years, I have replaced most of the wear parts, bearings, seals etc.

Matag LAT8705AAE moderately out of balance on spin even with no clothing load.

Replaced springs, damper pads and re level feet with no change.

The only wild card is the transmission balance. CLUE: out of balance point on drum changes with each wash/spin cycle. I tried to balance drum for testing, using magnets on inside of drum, only to find the balance point changes.

Trans is flat on one side with cover and seal and cone like on opposite side. Is it possible that a slow oil leak has allowed enough trans oil to leak out and the remaining oil is migrating to the cone end during a spin cycle to create the off balance?

There is some oil staining on the inside of the cabinet, but there is some on every one I have ever been inside.

If the oil is the issue, How full should the trans be?

GE washing machine - How to check the inverter and the motor

Hi this is the correct model #.I would like to know how to check the inverter and the motor.Machine fills with water then trys to wash but only makes about 2 turns then pumps out the water.I was trying to access error codes. The only code that came up t01, then pressed delay start to advance to t02, it stayed on t01, and did not advanced to any other code. I unpluged all the connection on the control board and on P9 plug I checked the 2 yellow wires for resistance and got no reading so it must be open. I blow out the the hose for the pressure sensor. Dont know what else to check or how, would like some help as I hate to by parts and then find the are not needed.

LG WM2250CW - No power/Not turning on

I went to use the washing machine today and when I pressed the power button nothing happened. None of the lights on the front turned on - just appeared to be dead.
I checked the fuse on the main panel and it was not tripped.
I plugged the washing machine into a different known working outlet and still no power.

I then proceeded to open up the machine to just have a look inside and see if I could spot anything obvious. While poking around I started to open up the box which houses the control board in the back left corner of the machine. In order to open that up, I unplugged the wires for the water pressure level switch - didn't find anything and put everything back. I then went to plug the machine back into the normal outlet and to my surprise the machine turned on right away!

My question is, can a bad water level pressure switch cause the machine to not turn on at all (no lights on the panel)? It sounds weird to me, but then again, I'm not a appliance repair guy. So could it be something else that is about to fail or is it just that switch?

Right now, I have the machine running a normal wash cycle so i'm going to wait and see if it finishes.

Are there any diagnostic modes that I can put the machine in?

Incomplete extraction of water during spin-dry cycle of the washing machine

Hi,
I have a Kenmore 700 series (model: 28722700) washer. The washer has some spin-dry/water extraction problem.

Washing with no second rinse on:
The machine appears to run normally (I hear the agitation) - but when it reaches the spin stage of the cycle, it spins rapidly, but the water is not completely extracted - the clothes are very wet. However, if I dial the knob back to the spin setting and start again, then the remaining water is extracted fine.

Washing with the second rinse on: After completing the spin from the first cycle, the tub gets filled with water, it agitates through the entire second rinse cycle and then it stops. The machine does not even attempt to spin out the water. At this stage, I have to turn the dial back to the spin setting to extract the water.

I did some reading on this blog. Based on that, I made the following observations:

1) I timed the spin dry process - bulk of the water is out within 90 seconds.
2)
The drain pumps appears unclogged - did not see anything inside.
3)
The lid sensor looks fine (checked with a multi-meter).
4) The plastic motor coupling appears OK.

I am not sure what to look for next. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

[Video] Inglis Washer Grinding noise while spinning

My washer is a Whirlpool Inglis IJ4100. The machine has started making a grinding noise when it starts spinning, but the noise dissipates when it's spinning faster, and it is quiet while agitating. I made a video to record the noise (starts making the abnormal noise at 0:10). I'm thinking it might be the bearing, but would appreciate any help with identifying the issue.

When It drains/spins It's quiet, but when It fills and starts turning left and right it grinds. Also this model doesn't have a belt or pulley It's a direct drive. Thanks.

How to enter test mode

After reconnecting the power I've tried Signal/DelayStart/Signal/DelayStart and also DelayStart/Signal/DelayStart (different sites have different suggestions). Neither worked. The door never locked and there was no evidence of entering test mode. What else can I try to enter test mode?

Maytag Top Loader making odd noise when agitating

I have a top loader that seems to be making an odd noise when it agitates. It does not make this noise when it only has water in it. It does, however, make a noise when under full load and agitating. The outer tub moves along with the noise. Thrust bearing kit?

LG Side load steam washer. Leaking

I have an LG Side load steam washer. The model number WN3070H*A
It is leaking out of the small 2 inch (approx) white plastic plug just under the cold inlet. The plug has three places where it looks as if it has to turn to lock in place. I can find no mention of the part or function in the manual.

Is this just a plastic bag holder for the manual and I have a leak elsewhere or does it serve some function? It is not the water drain filter. That is on the front of the machine.

It's the white part with the four pie shaped holes.

Removing inner tub

I am trying to remove the inner tub because the drive block is completely worn down and the tabs from the drive tube have nothing to fit into. The problem is that the tub will not break loose. The drive block is loose, but I cannot get the inner tub to budge. I've banged on the upper part of the inner tub with a hammer, thinking if it was rusted the banging might break the rust loose, but nothing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I didn't enter a model number because the top of the washer is from a Kenmore, and obviously has the wrong model number, since the control panel is Whirlpool. That being said, on this particular problem the model number is not really needed.

MAH5500BWW Maytag Neptune Washer: Grinding, wire under agitator

Maytag Neptune Washer started making a grinding noise anytime the drum was turned. Found online someone said they had removed the agitators and gathered a handful of coins that had been stuck in the gears, so I was hopeful...but sadly that is not my problem. I took off one agitator, and turned it so the "hole" was at the bottom of the drum, and there is a stiff metal wire rubbing against the inside of the drum. When I push it down and turn the drum a little the grinding is gone. I haven't been able to find anywhere what this is or how to repair it. (See picture)

Is it possible to repair this?
What is the part?
Anyone have videos or a manual for this machine? I don't know how to domore than take the door off

Second part: The spin cycle is getting louder. I understand from reading the forums that this likely means the grinding might not be worth repairing? Even so--if there is even a quick fix for the grinding to last my machine a few more days or weeks, that would be very helpful because I have a load of dirty cloth diapers to wash--pronto! And how much longer is a machine likely to last once the spin starts getting louder?

I don't know how old the machine is. We moved in almost 2 years ago. The washer and dryer are a pair, but I can't find a model number on the dryer, and the model sticker on the washer has the date worn off. I don't even know when this model was originally sold. Based on the age of other appliances in the house, I'm guessing 10-15 years old? If we have to replace the washer, is the dryer on borrowed time and something we should replace at the same time?Click image for larger version.  Name: IMG_5941.JPG  Views: 0  Size: 93.3 KB  ID: 27955Click image for larger version.  Name: IMG_5943.JPG  Views: 0  Size: 56.7 KB  ID: 27956Click image for larger version.  Name: IMG_5939.JPG  Views: 1  Size: 56.1 KB  ID: 27957Click image for larger version.  Name: IMG_5940.JPG  Views: 0  Size: 40.9 KB  ID: 27958

Candy Program selector problem.

Hello,

I have a Candy CNE 128 T that I bought about eleven years ago. It hasn't been used extensively, maybe once a week.

Now, the program selector / timer doesn't work any more. Sometimes, when I start a wash, it doesn't move at all and, sometimes, it just clicks past the end of the program and keeps on going.

I don't know if the model still exists, if the spare part exists, if it is possible to easily replace if the part does exist. It seems a bit of a waste to get rid of a machine that otherwise seems to work fine.

In case my explanation of what piece I'm talking about didn't make sense... this is what I mean... and now an image should appear:Click image for larger version.  Name: Clipboard01.jpg  Views: 0  Size: 15.1 KB  ID: 27950

GE GFWS3500LOWW - new latch not working

My wife put something in the wash that had a 2' aluminum rod inside of it!! Popped the door open mid cycle and broke the latch. I've tried two new latches, but with each when I try to start a cycle it creates a loud buzz 7 times and then nothing. The buzz comes from the latch. I can't access trouble codes because it goes through the same process and displays gibberish. The washer is empty and filter is clear. Any suggestions?

Samsung front loader WF8750LSW error 5E wont drain

My washer won't drain. Its getting error code 5E. It will drain at ground level but not at the normal sink level - it just makes a bit of a gurgling noise and kind of dribbles out a bit. So far I have checked the inlet from the drum to the pump for blockages, felt round between the outer and inner drum for socks etc, completely removed and checked the pump and all chambers for obstructions, and completely removed the drain pipe and confirmed there are nothing stuck in it or any kinks. I have also connected up the pump outside the housing and confirm the impeller blades are definitely turning - it looks to be turning at a good powerful speed too. Also if I remove the coin trap I can see the impeller turn. I'm completely baffled as I can't think what else it could possibly be. Any ideas? Is it possible an electrical fault is causing something screwy? Thanks in advance.

Samsung Washer WA5471 gives error code 3E

Hi,

I have a Samsung WA5471 washing machine that failed washing two blankets with an error code 3E. I unloaded the washer and tried a wash cycle with it empty, same error code. The documentation says 3E is a motor/tachometer error.

OK, so I tried some diagnosis. I put the washer into service mode and set it to do a spin test. What I get is some mechanical clunking sounds and the pulsator in the bottom turns poorly or not at all and the tub jerks around. Either the washer gets stuck at this point and throws new error codes 3E1 or 3E2, or it gets past that and starts the spinning. Then I see it smoothly spin up to slightly over 1000 RPM (the RPM is shown on the display during service mode), then stop the test and spin down as the service manual says it should.

This suggests to me that neither the direct drive motor, nor the tachometer is broken. Could this actually be a problem with the clutch? I'm assuming the clutch provides the two spin modes, A: where the tub stays still and the pulsator turns back and forth, and B: the tub and pulsator spin as a unit. Is that how a washer with a direct drive motor really operates? Do you think I should order a new clutch at this point or some other mechanical part? Or is my diagnosis off base? It's odd that I don't see codes about the clutch, but I'm assuming the clutch is broken somehow and that impedes spinning the tub and that's what throws the motor fault code.

ge home laundry combo

I bought a 24" GE Home Laundry Combo, model GTUP240EMWW for my Granddaughter knowing that the tub seal was leaking. Have repaired other top-load washers with no problem, but this one has got me confused. I have proceeded through all of the instructions to get to the seal, but cannot seem to get the spin basket removed from the tub. I have removed the tub nut using the appropriate spanner and all instructions say, 'After this procedure to simply lift out the spin basket'. But it will not budge from the transmission shaft. I must be missing something. I am including a picture of the spin basket, with the nut removed. Can you give me a clue as to how to proceed? Thank you.

White-Westinghouse/Frigidaire washer shaking violently

Hello! We have a stackable White-Westinghouse (Frigidaire) washer/dryer that has started to violently shake during the spin cycle. It is knocking off stuff on top of the unit, and moving away from the wall. When the washer is open, you can see that the middle part where you put your clothes (drum or tub or whatever you call it) is clearly off center.

The model number is: MLCE52RCS1

We are college students on a limited budget, so we are trying to avoid having to call someone out. Any ideas you guys have would be greatly appreciated!!

Samsung front load washer won't start anymore

Hi,

3 Days ago, my samsung washer just stopped working and won't turn on again.
checked power source and other basic stuff, all normal.

Called a technician and after 15 mins, he said that the Control board needs to be replaced: 500$ + tx.

I have several questions:
1: how can I be sure that the problem is really the control board?
2: Is it easy to replace it myself?
3: I have been checking for parts and I find wf218anb/xac and xaa, what is the difference? (the same but one in US, other in Canada?)
4: I found several part numbers for the control board that seem Identical, is anyone of those good with the wf218anb/xac?:
DC92-00287C, DC92-00288A, DC92-00200C

thank you
