Removing clutch from old GE motor

Hello forum,

I am attempting to reuse an induction motor from an older GE washer. I have successfully removed the top cap/cover, clutch housing (w/ included sheave and bearing), and a few other small components. Here is the assembly before any components were removed, as well as before pulling the clutch outer housing+bearing.

Attachment 37946

Attachment 37947

This revealed a collar or attachment that I am unfamiliar with, and cannot figure out the purpose or how to remove. This is shown in the other pictures below.

Attachment 37948
Attachment 37949
Attachment 37950

You can see the flat spot where a retaining clamp (U-bolt with flat steel bar that went into the flat spot, with 2 nuts on the u-bolt... not unlike an exhaust clamp on a car or other pipe) laid. The u-bolt laid in the semicircular groove around the collar. This little steel collar does not seem to be movable, and maybe is brazed or soldered in? I am not sure how it would be removed, as the ground-flat side seems to show that it is pretty thick, and may in fact be sitting in a reduced area of the shaft. Or is this brazed/soldered in place to join the actual motor shaft to an extension? I have no idea what purpose this serves, and welcome any input on the collar, its original purpose, and how it might be removed.

This is a motor I pulled from a washer that a neighbor was throwing out. I didn't grab the washer info, but the motor is a GE 5KH42DT74S (1725 rpm, probably 1/2hp or 3/4hp).

edit: I found

Based on this, the piece I'm picturing is the clamp/collar that is part of the base of the shaft extension, WH40X151. I am trying to figure out how to remove the shaft extension from the motor shaft itself

WM3875HWCA LG front loader leaks around pump filter

If I pour water into the drum, it comes leaking out around the threads of the pump filter. I replaced the pump filter. I cleaned the pump case. Pump filter is screwed in snugly (hard stop). Gaskets on the (new) pump filter and the (old) pump case look perfect, clean and smooth. My next step is to replace the pump case but I am gloomy about the prospects of that fixing the problem. Sure would appreciate some advice. Thanks in advance.

LG Washer WT5001CW Grinding noise with UE and Dr Error Codes

Hello,

My LG Washer is making a horrible grinding noise and it appears to be stuck in a fill doom loop and never completely drains, even when it is set to Spin Only - it just refills. I have had error codes UE and Dr. Link to video below. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Kenmore Washer 110.22292100 NOT SPINNING

My washer fills and agitates as it should and as you know before reaching the rinse cycle, it drains and spins. But my washer doesnt spin, only drains. Same thing for the final rinse and spin cycle, only drains water. I can freely move the tub with my hand when its supposed to be spinning but it wont spin on itself. I can get it to spin only when I select the spin cycle after waiting a few minutes.

I have replaced the clutch, coupler, door switch is bypassed, timer seems to move okay. Not sure what else to check so thats what brings me here.

GE Hydro wave washer stuck at wash

Hello Guys,

We have a old GE hydro wave washer that's getting stuck on wash cycle. The water fills up, the machine drains and spins as well. It would also run after few mins (10-20 mins) after being stuck at the wash cycle and some times it won't. When it does, the clothes don't soak up nicely. What could be the issue?

Maytag washer will not spin or drain

Read most of the posts on this issue but have an additional question. When basket is moving in the CCW direction I get a clunking, whining, sound. It locked up and wouldn't turn at all. Moved the basket until I got it running again. Obviously something is failing. Would this be the clutch underneath the basket, or is there a bearing attached to the basket that would be failing and I could replace that?

Washer not responsive and only beeping

We attempted to repair this Stackable but will not respond whatsoever. It will beep when pressing the control panel buttons but will not start the cycle. We reset the stackable and the same thing occurs. We also tried replacing the lid switch and main board with no change. We also attempted to put it into service mode in order to look up the error codes in which the stackable would still not respond. Do you know of anything else that could cause this issue? The stackable will just beep three times which we thought to believe would be the lid switch.

Hydrowave Washer Doesn't Spin After Agitating

I have a GE Hydrowave washer that won't spin after washing a large load. I have done the field service code process and on the second position the wash and soak LED's are lit up which corelate to thermistor, and slow pump. I have checked the pump and it's clear. If I run a small load through, it seems to work fine. There's no real clear diag pointing to the issue.

WA37T26G Fisher Paykel GW11 pump/diverter

We have a Fisher/Paykel WA37T26G (GW11) washer. It doesn't want to drain. I"m getting a #37 pump block error message. I checked the hoses and they're clear. I do not hear the pump engaging, but the diverter valve clicks. The diverter valve is ohm testing at 32.2K ohms. The pump is ohm testing at 5.4 ohms. I cannot find the pump fuse. I know the pump needs to be about 7 ohms, so it 5.4 too low?

I used this awesome forum to learn what F02 was and how to clean my filter, and then when that didnt help, replace my pump. New pump is obviously working but the cycle wont complete. It still gets partway thru and stops with F02. Help? On YouTube they say replace sensor. Here it says possibly control board. What do I do? What do i check? I am not scared to get dirty. I need my machine back up and running.

GE washer not draining

I have a GE top load washer, model number GTWN4250D1WS, that isn’t draining properly and it just started recently. I have already tried replacing the drain hose with no luck. I’ve also noticed that the cup for the fabric softener isn’t draining either. Any advice would be appreciated.
