New washer making noise

I do not like bein a pain in the a** buyer. At the same time I would hate to repair a brand new washer.

This happened the first time we used it. I have 15 days from delivery to exchange it.

Below is video of the noise. What should I do? Is this an easy repair? Will this be an issue in the futureeven if it is repaired?

Can it matter the dealer I bought it from? Got a really good price. Dryer is also having issues.

Seeking suggestion for a new washer

Hi folks,

My current Maytag washer is wearing down. It has a transmission problem that I've been muddling thru (only runs in low gear) and has now sprung a leak leaving a water trail to my basement floor drain. I fear I should replace it, but I'm VERY particular about what I'm looking for and I need some help with that.

#1 -- I DESPISE "High-Efficiency" washers! They are NOT "efficient"! I purchased a Kenmore HE washer once. HATED IT. It sits unused and unrepaired in my basement, and I won't make that mistake again. I want a washer that uses full loads of water -- gallons and gallons of it! I want my clothes CLEAN and RINSED, not damply tossed about to save some carbon footprint somewhere.

#2 -- I want a timer dial, NOT pre-determined wash cycles. I want to be able to stop my load and change the timer. "Oops! I'm running late. I'll shorten this wash cycle and spin it now!"

#3 -- BIG, BIG TUB! My husband is a big, BIG man. His blue jeans are 3x the size of mine. I need to be able to wash more than one pair of his jeans at a time.

#4 -- NO lid locks! My clothes are not convicts! I shouldn't have to break them out of a washer!

#5 -- Extra rinse cycle would be preferred.

Obviously, these are not common features anymore, so I have resorted to purchasing used equipment and running them till they die -- such as my current Maytag washer.

Is there a NEW washer ANYWHERE out there that will not hold my clothing hostage, that I can SEE on the dial how much time has elapsed because it can move and BE moved. Are there still GOOD washers out there that actually freely slosh clothing through gallons and gallons of water???

I was fooled once, but NEVER AGAIN! I had my head turned by a handsome Kenmore washer that CLAIMED to be "High-Efficiency" with a big, big tub, but that was a FARCE! There was NOTHING "efficient" about washing, washing, and rewashing the same urine-soaked bedding or gritty work pants over and over and OVER AGAIN!!!!!!!! I found no joy in having my clothing held hostage for HOURS on end with no indication when the cycle would EVER end! I want an "old-school" washer like my Maytag -- mechanical and reliable, no pansy electronics!

Anyone have a suggestion on how to put a happy ending on this "soap opera"???

Thanks!
~Mavis

Frigidaire Affinity Cycle Timing Issue

Hello I was wondering if someone could help me, I have a Frigidaire Affinity Washer and recently the wash cycle time would decrease to 3 mins about 2 minutes into the wash cycle. It doesn't make a difference what cycle is selected, if say the normal cycle is 45 mins. in total, at the 43 min. mark it would drop to 3 mins and then then cycle will count down the 3 minutes and finish. During the initial 2 minute period a small amount of water enters the machine and the drum would spin but then it drops to 3 minutes. Has anyone run into this issue? Thanks in advance!

Maytag washer making noise during agitation and spin

Mvwc425bw model maytag washer makes a sound that it never made before. It sounds like rubbing noise. Fills, spins, empties fine. The only error cod that comes up is F7E1, which says it's the basket speed sensor. Would that explĂ in the noise?

SAMSUNG WF455ARGSGR te error code

Hey guys,

I've been dealing with an issue on my SAMSUNG WF455ARGSGR washing machine that when it gets to the last 10 mins of a wash cycle, more often than not, it will throw a te code. The only way I've been able to work around this is my powering off the unit, then powering it back on, followed by holding in the spin cycle button for 3 secs and then let it drain several times repeating these steps, which result in the unit sort of completing the last cycle.

One thing I noticed when it's throwing te code, is there's a lot of water in the bed of the washer. We're also not overloading the unit either with clothes - sometimes I've only got 2 sweaters in there, and it'll throw this.

As far as troubleshooting, I've checked all the wires and I've replaced the thermal sensor, but this issue still remains.

It seems that this te code is quite common and I'm hoping someone has an idea on how to fix this.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Anyone have any advice

I was looking at the thread by Jyn and I have the same issue.
I have the above model Whirlpool Duet washer and the spider has broken.
My machine does list lifetime warranty on the stainless steel drum.

I called Whirlpool today and I guess, because unfortunately I live in Canada and have to deal with the Canadian office they are telling me that because I took unit apart to find cause (not to mention I don’t want to (nor can I afford ) pay exorbitant fees to have appliance tech come out to diagnose my lifetime warranty is now void.
They also say they will NOT supply parts under warranty for me to install because they are concerned about liabilities. But they certainly will sell me the parts to install myself.

The broken spider has caused the front tub to be chewed up and as far as I can see, the rear tub with seal should be replaced also.

Would anyone be able to give me some guidance?

Thank you in advance.

Trick for Removing tub springs

I am trying to pull the tub/drum from a samsung BigWash to do a postmortem (there is a grinding sound going on so bad sounding that i am.not even thinking of repair. I'm mostly just curious. Like if.my tenants' child slipped a toy car in there or something)

Is there a trick for Removing the springs the drum hangs from?

Some.videos show a clever system where you can rotate the plastic grommet at the top hook and drop it down.
This setup does not have that.

I expect I need to find a forked tool of some.kind to push down on the lower U hook. But maybe there is a smarter way.

WT5101HV Wash Plate Not Releasing from Drive Shaft Spindle

I have an LG WT5101HV Wave Force Top Loading Washer.

I need to replace the Washer Drive Shaft and Shifter Assembly. To do this I need to remove the Wash Plate and Wash Tub.

I have been following a Repair Clinic Video. The specific spot on the video appears at approximately 1:29 minutes of the 9:13 minute video.

It's a great video and very clear except they are demonstrating on a new washer where every part is easy to remove.

I have removed the Wash Cap and the 10mm bolt / screw securing the Wash Plate. But no matter how I try I can't get the WASH PLATE to release off of the Drive Shaft Spindle.

  • I have tried wiggling it from side to side.
  • I have placed coat hanger hooks into the 3 alignment holes for the Wash Cap and tried pulling it off.
  • I have place a polypropylene rope under and across the bottom of the Wash Plate so as to pull it loose.
  • I am pulling in both instances with such force that I can actually lift the Suspension Wash Tub up several inches. I do this in hopes of shaking or breaking the Wash Plate loose.

But still it will not break free.

Any suggestions please on how to release this Plastic Wash Plate?

Thanks

AWN432SP111TW01 Speed Queen washer stopped working mid-cycle

I have a Speed Queen washing machine model AWN432SP111TW01, serial 1110013649.

It's been working fine for years and we had never had any trouble with it, but today it stopped mid-cycle, and won't turn back on.

I tested another device in the same electrical socket and it worked fine. I ran an extension cord from an electrical socket in another room which was working fine and connected the washer to it, but still nothing.

I looked in the user guide troubleshooting section under "Won't Start". I have tried everything there. One of the suggestions there is to give it a few minutes for the motor overload protector to reset; I have given it hours.

The user guide does not mention a fuse in the washer.

I opened up the control panel area of the washer and looked for a fuse but did not find one. There was a sheet in there with a schematic. I scoured it for a fuse but it did not mention one.

I looked all over in there for anything that looked burned or otherwise damaged, or loose, etc. Everything looks as good as new and all connections seem tight.

Any suggestions on what I can try?

why is my 10kg Maytag top loader washer motor over heating?

When my Maytag washer is spinning to remove water I discovered that the motor is over heating .
And the motion is breaking, causing the starting coil breaker to trip on and off.
This is my first time of working on this brand does it supposed to be like that...?

Vintage 1984 whirlpool washer help

Model LA5700XMW0.( Belt drive) Washing machine does not spin to wring out clothes during last cycle. All other functions appear to work. Our research found people referring to a clutch but after partial disassembly of the transmission it appears there is no clutch. About 4 years ago the water pump and drive belt were replaced . We would love to keep this old washing machine as we looked at new models and not happy with the quality.
Any advice or help with our issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

GE Stackable Washer/Dryer won't spin

Hi there!

I have a GE Stackable Washer/Dryer that as of yesterday worked fine. It will go through the cycles and get through rinse but then won't go to spin. The light stays on Rinse and Lid Locked turns on.

I tried the spin cycle on its own and it seems to be working but won't go through the cycling. (I can't be positive of this since, I can't see in the washer when it's happening, but I hear noise)

I cannot find the model number on the lid. On the top or on the side.

I also do a factory (?) reset and that didn't work.

Any suggestions?

Thank you!
Jenna

WFMC1001UC/07 Bosch Washer won't start

I have a Bosch washer. When you start it, the door locks and water starts going in. After that all I can here is a click coming from the control module. I thought it was bad so I replaced it with a new one. Still doing the same thing. Could the capacitor be bad? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Whirlpool WTW5000DW0 Washing Machine spin issue...

The washing machine struggles to spin when there is a light load in it. It gives a couple of whirls and just can't get going. It then just goes on to the next phase of the cycle. Clothes come out soaking wet. If I do a large load of clothes it struggles a bit to spin, but then gets going and spins out the water. Also, I don't think enough water is going in the tub initially. Even on deep water wash there is just a little bit no matter the load size (I do realize HE washers use less water... but this seems like such a small amount). I've tried replacing the actuator and the capacitor. Neither made a difference. I've run the re-calibration... it got extremely violent. Any suggestions? I'm new to appliance repair, but I've done several of my own car repairs so I'm not afraid to get in there.

Thanks
