Is the transmission of this washer bad?

When it is not working, the wash cycle starts but instead of agitating the machine hums while giving off an electrical burn smell. When the machine is in spin, it will drain and spin no problems, however it make clicking noise.

Long story short, I pulled it all apart and eventually got the motor+transmission out and gave it a test run. Its still making the clicking noise, I'm guessing the transmission is shot?

Frigidaire front loader leaks during filling

My front loading Frigidaire washer started leaking from Tub to Pump hose, where it attaches to tub, near the air-chamber hose connection. Took the hose out, checked - everything seems fine, no cracks, or rips. Assembled everything, checked clamps etc and it still gashes water out as soon as the washing machine is turned on. Is the problem with the pump? Or something else?

LG WM2240CW dE code ( door error )

I have bought an lg wm2240cw unit used months ago, and it worked perfectly up until last week.
my house must have had a major power surge because some other appliances got damaged.

so as i wanted to do laundry, i selected spin cycle etc.. door switch tries to lock and unlock itself two times. then shows dE error code.
when the mechanism locks/unlocks, the door does in fact lock and unlock... so it appears to be working correctly, yet still get dE code.

I ordered a new door lock/switch from repairclinic, and it did not solve the error code. the switch itself looks different than the original one, but the wire adapter plugged right in. meaning its not original oem stuff, but does this even matter?

im thinking the main board might have some damage then ? all buttons appear to work.
i looked through the part list , and did not see any sensors that can be replaced that relate to door lock mechanism, it appears all is controlled by main control pcb
does this have anything to do with noise filter since it is power surge related ?
can i override a sensor to fool the washer ?

please help! thank you

WF210ANW/XAA Samsung Washer Words missing on control panel

Control panel has red lights that come on, but no words or labels indicating what they mean. Are the words supposed to light up red, or should they be printed on the display? Some of the buttons have no words on them.

WP duet washer WFW9150WW01 intermittent wet clothes

Working on WP duet washer, Mod: WFW9150WW01.

Customer complains that clothes are not sufficiently wrung out at end of cycle. Washer occasionally stalls and does not complete cycles at different time intervals (8 min, 17 min, 29 min, ETC, never the same stall point.) Owner needs to run rinse/spin cycle to finish load.

This model uses “wash” indicator light to display error code,

Flashing 8-1 = "no water detected entering washer or pressure switch trip not detected"

Washer will successfully complete diagnostic cycle. All functions appear with spec. Fills, agitates, rinses, drains, spins, high speed spin, door lock, all ok.

Checked water valve coils, and pressure valve for continuity, OK. wiring harness ok. Drain pump drains. Filter catch clear. Pressure SW tube is clear and appears not to have leak.

I can't recall the source, but I did find a reference that stated that if the pressure SW is not working properly, it will indicate water still in the tub and will not initiate the high spin cycle.

I replaced the pressure switch ( wpw10239066 ), cleared error memory from diagnostic, ran diagnostic cycle again and the all functions appeared to work. I ran a short rinse/spin & drain cycle, all ok. Customer called back and said washer was failing to complete 3 out of 4 loads. In order to complete the load, she then runs the washer through rinse/spin & drain to complete the load.

Any suggestions?

Patrick

Samsung WF457ARGSGR touchscreen unresponsive

Hi all. I come here humbly and in absolute desperation.

I have this fancy schmanzy washer That, of course, is out of warranty. It is a 'smart' washer which equips it with an 8 inch lcd touchscreen. However, our screen is unresponsive to the touch. It responds to power and alters adjusts when the internal light goes on. Fortunately it is stuck on a cycle setting so we can still start and complete a load but under very basic circumstances.

I have so far replaced the touchscreen interface, the main control board/brain and the on/off button interface. All to no avail. It boggles me that it is still stuck on this setting after the entire brain has been replaced.

Last port of call is replacing the wires and entire harness. I've ordered the part but am hoping I can find a solution with you folks.

Any thoughts or insights? When I go into the diagnostic screen it shows a "code '02' - lcd: 0e86. Option 0014." - none of these codes are yielding any result in my searches.

I'm grateful in advance for any help or consideration that comes my way.

Thanks.

Worth Fixing my Samsung WF331ANW washer

It seems that my 6 year old Samsung WF331ANW 2011 washer is on the fritz where it makes a loud banging noise during the rinse cycle. My guess is that the Spider/Flange Shaft Assembly is going out. I do have a few questions.

1) I am not sure that if I want to fix this or replace it altogether since I am not very handy. Do I need a socket wrench for it because I don't have one.

2) I saw a couple of parts in amazon and the cheapest one that I saw cost about $94 for the spider assembly.

http://ift.tt/2vk40Ad

I am not sure if I need to buy the bolts (it cost $15 for 6 of them!) and also the bearing/seal kit. I saw a seal kit for about $27 here and is it compatible for most washers?

http://ift.tt/2uJBGdu

3) Based on your experiences, should I just try to pluck down about $95-$140 to see if I can potentially fix the washing machine or just throw in the towel and buy another one? I saw a cheap one on Bestbuy for $550 plus tax and probably a little more for shipping. The reason why I am asking is that if today's washers if the spider/flange assembly are still made with the cheap aluminum which will rot in a few years.

AWS45NW Speed Queen Agitator Broken

Today our Speed Queen agitator showed a partially broken "fin". After cleaning, sanding and utilizing some epoxy resin and glass mat, it's curing until a test run tomorrow night. I plan on ordering a new agitator but for now we should be OK using the machine.

The part appears to be a friction fit, so most likely I will be able to remove it, however, I have a couple of questions.

1. Should I replace water seals beneath the agitator? No leaks have appeared to date, however, I don't want to ruin the transmission.
2. What is the function of the small wire which exits under the cap (dispenser)?

Maytag Overfills on HOT wash only (not warm or cold wash)

I have a Maytag LAT8415AAM Washer, which overfills when I set it to wash with HOT water ONLY. It does NOT overfill when I have it set to use warm or cold water.

I disconnected the air tube from the pressure switch (it was a nice tight connection, by the way), and I can blow through the tube, proving there isn't any blockage. Tube seems to be in good shape too, no dry rot and no kinks or cuts, at least as far as I can see (I did not drag washer away from wall to remove back panel and check the tub-end of the tube).

I tested the pressure switch. I can blow into its air connection and I can hear the switch "click". If I have a Ohmmeter hooked up to the pressure switch, I can see the switch is performing its electrical functions as expected: at the click I get infinite ohms on the terminal that goes to the water valves, and if I let the air escape the switch, it clicks again and I get continuity to the terminal that goes to the water valves.

I'm thinking it is the water valves themselves that are the culprit. Process of elimination: it is the only component left. Do you agree? Do you have a great diagnostic procedure I can perform to determine if the valves are bad?

I'm confused as to why the overfilling occurs when I'm using HOT only, but doesn't do the same thing when using warm, since the same valve is being used for both... Somehow having the cold valve in use simultaneously allows the hot valve to shut off properly, but hot valve doesn't shut off correctly when it is only valve being used?

I have very hard well water, and my softener does a pretty good job of removing the hardness, but I'm suspicious if the quality of my water is what has caused the faulty water valve (maybe scale build-up?) over many years of use (I purchased the house almost a year ago and it came with this old washer).

Not sure if it is worth it to try replacing the water valves in this washer, or just replace the washer itself.

Thoughts? Thanks, Cuz.

Candy not removing detergent properly

Hello,

I have a question regarding my Candy CNE 108T. A few days ago it got clogged and wouldnt drain, sadly i didnt find anything in the filter so i had to use water vacuum cleaner and it did the trick.
While doing it i moved the draining pipe and it seems i did something bad, i ran an empty washer on 20+ rinse cycles and still i can see some detergent on top of the water, meaning it obviously isn't draining properly. I want to make sure that the draining pipes are set up properly, since i did move them. This is the image from my manual:

Attachment 34106

Could someone please explain to me why the draining pipes should be set up a certain way, why does it matter regarding height, etc? Why does it matter for instance on far right that part of the pipe is above the exit hole in the wall (apart from obvious reason being that it prevents water from exit hole to run back into the washing machine)?

hello all, I have a new one GE Washer

Ok, this one is hard to diagnose. Machine runs thru all cycles but gets stuck (blinking start light) with 11 min to go in rinse...it will start up again if you push the start button. then again it starts blinking with 2 min to go in spin. Again start light blinks and can continue by pressing start button. Why the pausing? New control board required? sensors?

Bosch Supersilence SMU50M62SK E09

Hi!

New to this forum and need urgent help answering a question about a component.

I have a SMU50M62SK (Bosch Supersilence dishwasher). Last week it started showing error code: E09. Which seems to be some error with the heating.

I have removed a part that i think has to do with heating, but i want to make sure with u guys.

I have measured between the pins, and one is connected to the metal. The other 2 shows O.L on multimeter. Arent they supposed to be like 30Ohm?.

Best Regards
Johan

Maytag Atlantis timer on washing machine

I have a Maytag Atlantis washing machine (model MAV9750AWW. Serial #24061477EL).

I'm having a problem with it skipping the spin cycle on normal wash (it will do the spin cycle when on delicate wash). Everything I've researched points to the timer being bad. My problem is I can't find a timer for it. Everywhere I've checked says the part isn't made anymore and isn't available. I've found a couple parts on eBay, but I don't understand exactly how the "series" numbers work in relation to finding exactly which replacement timer I need.
Can anyone help me with the exact part number I should be looking for?
Thank you in advance!!

Maytag Bravos XL

I've read a lot about these washers having problems spinning enough so the clothes aren't soaking wet. Here's what mine does: It doesn't seem to spin enough for clothes not to be soaking wet when I do a normal load. I think it's not spinning much at all when I'm doing a normal load. So I end up having to do a rinse and spin and that seems to do the trick. I don't think it's completing the entire cleaning cycle because it seems to be DONE in a shorter period of time than the display indicates it should be. It seems to work fine when I'm doing bulky items. Any suggestions?

How to remove bleach dispenser, LG WT5001C

I'm trying to replace the top on my LG WT5001C, and I have everything removed except the bleach dispenser. I can't figure out how to remove the bleach dispenser, and I'm not finding anything online.

Anyone know how to remove the bleach dispenser on LG WT5001C?

Seems like there's screws holding the top of the dispenser (where you pour the bleach in), and there's screws holding the dispenser, but you can't get to any of the screws. And there's like little plastic hooks around the dispenser, but I can't figure out how to push or pull the hooks so that the dispenser comes apart.
