LG Washer not agitating

LG washing machine WT7200CW only a year and a half old. Within the first 3 months, it started making loud banging sounds when switching from drum spin to agitator spin. Under warranty at that time and the Clutch assembly was replaced by a technician. It has now stopped agitating. I removed the pulsator and the plastic gear is stripped on the agitator. I ordered a new pulsator (AGZ72909702) and the shaft size is incorrect. I then ordered a different part number (AGZ72909701) and same problem...

Impeller removal

Customer Problem: Washer would not go into spin cycle. I did run self Diagnostics... when it got to Spin Cycle it wanted to agitate fast, then shut down on overload.
Troubleshot and determined it needed a new Washer Cam Splutch Kit and a new W10528947 Hub Kit.
Problem: I can not get the impeller off, Heated it with a heat gun it still will not come off.
Needless to say after working on it for an hour at the customers residence I consider not to do anymore damage to it and threw in the...

Maytag Bravos X MVWX700XL2

Hello,

Was washing clothes yesterday and noticed the timer sticking on 5 minutes. Had to manually stop and put it on rinse and spin to get the water out. I did the diagnostic today and found the code saying excessive time to drain, however, it drains perfect when on the drain and spin program. Did a normal cycle with only water, and once it gets to the spin portion of the cycle at the 13 min remaining, it never kicks in or runs and water. Almost like it skipped the rinse cycle as well. I...

Fisher Paykel WA37T26GW1 washer fault 51 - diverter valve question

Hi All -

I know this is a somewhat uncommon brand (at least here in the US) but I'm hoping someone might be able to offer some assistance on a problem I'm having with my Fisher Paykel WA37T26GW1 washer.

A couple of weeks ago, my washer began stopping about 15 minutes in to the wash cycle. It would beep steadily at one second intervals and display a 00110011 pattern on the "wash progress" lights. My service sheet indicated that this corresponds to a Fault 51 / diverter valve fault code...

WFMC1001/UC Bosch - How much water should a washer use for a front loader?

Mine uses about a 1 gallon at startup then a gallon to rinse. I tried this on empty but it timed the same, with cloths or empty. When I try to wash a large blanket the middle is dry. Does the same on hot or cold. Do I have a bad load sensor switch?

WFMC1001UC/06 Bosch Washer - Only adds water for about 5 seconds, ( about 1/2 gallon of water) at start up.

Is this normal? Seems ok for the rinse cycle because everything is damp before putting it in the dryer. Sometimes I have to spin it again because its soaking wet. 2006 model.

Maytag washer worn splutch?

The other day when doing laundry my girlfriend heard a loud grinding noise during the spin cycle.

I had a look today and it appears that the shaft pulley has worn a ring into the plastic pulley cover. I noticed that the splutch allows some up and down travel of the shaft pulley. However, when I took the splutch apart, nothing looked worn. All the splines appeared solid and the nut holding the shaft pulley was on tight.

I don’t want to throw parts at this thing. What could it be? I...

I have been working on this washer and replaced the bearings, cleaned everything, It ran for several loads fine but now it’s stopped starting the motor to spin and the water cuts off and then it throws those codes. So, ran a new wire (a mouse appeared to have chewed on it) that goes to the front and rear panels, and then took off the screw again to the rear of the tub, sanded that area and replaced that wire as well. Belt came off washer

GE, Front Load Washer
Model: GFWS1705H1DG

Last 5 minutes of wash cycle (the spin), drum stopped spinning. No weird noises or anything.

Opened the back panel and the drive belt was on the ground.

It keeps slipping off when trying to put back on.

The drive pulley assembly moves in and out too. Tightened the nut and now when I spin the drum with the pulley it makes a “train coming into the station” screeching noise.

How do you fix the Bosch washing machine door error 'no'?

I'm having issues with our Bosch Avantixx 7 washing machine.

After starting a program running about 1 minute the error code 'NO' shows up. Which implies that we're trying to open the wash machine door, which is obviously not true.
I've check the door and can't find any damages or heavy wear whatsoever.
Unfortunately the peep and error keep going continuously without stopping. Which makes it impossible to do laundry.

Whirlpool Washer Spinning Slow

Hey all, new member here, I've got a whirlpool washer (model #LSC9000PW2) that's not spinning fast enough during the extra rinse/spin cycle to drain all the water. What's strange to me is that during a normal wash cycle it will fill, agitate, and spin just fine, draining all the water. But during the next rinse/spin cycle (and optional second/extra rinse) it does not spin fast enough and leaves the clothes sitting in a small pool of water. I'm hoping someone here has encountered this before...

Does anyone know if Speed Queen front load washers DO NOT use the infamous white pot metal spider like the junk Samsung’s ?

The Samsung spider part is made from pot metal that chemically reacts with the aluminum drum and they constantly break.

But after unbolting the motor and plugging it back in, it seems to spin fine. I can’t seem to figure out this issue

Asko W6461 stops mid-cycle, no error displayed.

Hi again,

The same guy who asked me to repair the fridge also has a failed Asko W6461 he bought in 2005. This is a higher-end, horizontal drum machine. According to him, it has suddenly stopped working properly, not completing cycle, but not displaying any error either. Frustrating.

He brought me the relay board, the timer board and the rotary encoder, all extremely expensive parts to replace ($500+ total) as he wanted a second opinion. No part appears burnt, relays have proper contact...

Admiral ATW4675YQ1 Top Loader

Hello,
We have the above named washer and it intermittently skips the agitation part of the rinse cycle. During the wash cycle it fills, agitates, drains and spins properly then, on occasion during the rinse cycle it will fill and then go directly into the final spin mode without agitating.
Has anyone else experienced this? We have noticed it after an electric "burp" in the house where all the clocks have to be reset etc. but not sure if that happens each time as it is intermittent. Any help...

Washer will not turn on

Hey everyone. The control board will not turn on at all thus not allowing the machine to work at all. I have checked the receptacle and I have 120v. The washer is barely a year old at this point. Has anybody had this issue before?

Brand New Floor Model. The top washer part works just fine, the main washer does not start. Everything is connected, no error codes, everything is lit up on the panel just fine. The door doesn't really seem to have an lock on it but that seems to be closed tight just fine. Husband has already looked over the main control board and sees nothing weird. Please help!

WF448AAP/XAA Samsung Washer Repair or Substitution of Discontinued Part

This is a Samsung WF448AAP/XAA 02, built December 2009, in service since 2010 when we purchased it new. It has sprung a leak in a T-shaped part (I assume backflow preventer) just before the steam assembly. See here http://bit.ly/2Weq7V3 for context and here for picture of crack in the part http://bit.ly/2WezGTR. This is Samsung part #DC97-12578E, which has unfortunately been discontinued (no luck with Samsung or multiple parts vendors). I have purchased the nearest equivalent (see here http://bit.ly/2WerNhj), but the T off to the drawer is missing what looks to be a smaller second backflow preventer.

Unfortunately, I am a bit uncertain as to the mechanics in play here - specifically, I assume but am not sure the bigger valve is to keep steam from backing into the supply hose (?), but why would the little T off to the detergent drawer need what looks like that other check valve?

My questions... Can I safely use that replacement part as a direct replacement? Can the original part be patched with anything that would hold up to the heat and pressure of steam if that's what its guarding? And finally, if neither of the first two can work, is there any option for disabling/cutting off/rerouting/replacing a broader subassembly to get things going again.

Any help appreciated - definitely out of my depth here and the folks I've asked so far want me to give up on it for lack of the "official" part.

Whirlpool washer making grinding sound.

Suddenly during a wash load my washer started making a very loud grinding sound. At the time it stopped spinning, but I have since replaced the clutch assembly, drum bushing and motor coupling with no change except that it does spin now. The drum is balanced and there’s no noise when I turn the drum by hand or during the wash cycle. What else can it be? I did notice that the transmission housing is coated with oil although none has dripped on the floor.

WM3170CW LG Washing with LE Error Code

Greetings all!

A couple days ago I received the LE code on my WM3170CW washing machine a few minutes into running a cycle. The drum spins easily in both directions when the power is off. When attempting to run a wash cycle, the motor will try to move but magnetically locks and hums. Occasionally it will spin briefly for about 1/2 of a rotation and make a loud growling sound. Searching the code, it seemed the most likely cause was the hall sensor. I bought a replacement hall sensor (6501KW2002A) from the local appliance parts store and installed it. However, that did not resolve the issue. So, I tested the continuity with a multimeter from the motor and hall sensor connectors to the main board and every pin showed continuity. I physically traced the wires and didn't see any external signs of damage. I tested the resistance of the stator and it showed 10-11 ohms between all three pins. The rotor has all magnets and shows no sign of wear. Considering all this, I bought a used main board. After installing the new board, the issue continued. Any ideas? Replace wire harness? Stator? Rotor? Thanks in advance and any and all assistance!

Saga of Samsung washer WA422PRHDWR/AA continues

This is effectively a bump of this thread: Samsung washer model WA422PRHDWR/AA stuck in spin cycle

I wanted to tinker with it a bit more, and I took off the pump assembly, which seemed to be the cause of most of my problems. Sometimes it would drain fine, sometimes not. I thought something might be stuck inside, and I replaced the pump in 2015, so I figured it wasn't the pump.

So, I took the pump off, took the impeller case off and it seems fine, it turns ok and no clogs. So then I hooked up an e-meter to the power inputs to the pump to see if it was receiving power, and I'll be damned if it was. So, it seems like the control board is sending power to the pump as per normal, but the pump doesn't seem to be working.

Thing is, it's a fairly simple A/C motor. power goes in one end, induces a magnetic field that runs the pump. There's not really a lot of things on it that can break. And the impeller turns freely.

Could it be the pump after all? Do pumps go bad after 3 years..........again? I guess I bought the first on in 2012, and replaced it in 2015, and here I am 4 years later, but 4 years for a washer pump that I use twice a weeks seems abysmally poor.

Trick is, the memorial day sales are going to expire next week, and if I can't fix it AND I miss the sale prices on new ones, I'm going to be slightly miffed.

Any thoughts? Just get a new pump?

*Update*

I plugged in the electrical leads halfway onto the prongs on the pump, and hooked up the e-meter to the pump electrical prongs while plugged in, and I couldn't read any electrical potential between the prongs. Then I unplugged the pump motor, and got a solid voltage reading on the power leads from the control board.

Does this mean there is a lack of continuity in the pump, which would mean it is busted?

LG WT1201CW water inlet valve replacement

I purchased a new water inlet valve for this washer, but I can't find any video's specific to this model that show how to open this washer up! Ive attached 2 photos. There are 2 screws that seem to hold the top rear silver cover in place, and 2 screws that hold the rear white portion of the cover (all screw locations indicated by arrows on the second photo). When the screws are removed from the white piece the entire top of the washer wants to life up, but seems to be held in place at the front of the washer. Anyone ever worked on one of these beasts? Could use some advice before I call someone to replace this valve for me.

Spin Failure

Eight year old washer won't go into spin cycle. Error code is F7 E1, Basket Speed Sensor Fault. I cleared the codes and rand the Automatic Test Mode and got the same code. I did the Manual Test Mode and tested the low spin, high spin, gentle agitation, and high agitation tests and they all seem to work fine.

The rotor isn't locked, spins freely.

I've removed and reattached the J2 and J16 harness connections from main control to motor and shifter.

I have NOT gotten into TEST #3a: Drive System Shifter.

Which part(s) of TEST #3a will be the most productive for me?

Thanks,
JP

WF448AAP/XAA Samsung Washer Started Leaking, What part is this?

My Samsung washer (model number WF448AAP/XAA) starting leaking so I opened it and looked at where it was coming from. There is a white plastic part that connects 2 rubber hoses. It looks like it connects to the detergent and bleach reservoir. I notice there is a slight crack in the plastic. I have had this washer for about 7 years. When I do a quick wash (about 41 minutes), it happens at the 8 minute left mark. It doesn't leak water in the beginning of the wash cycle, only towards the end of the cycle when the washer is spinning very fast. Water sprays out for 1 minute or so.

What is the purpose of this part?
What is this part called?
What is the part number?
Where can I order the part from?

I just googled and repairclinic.com or appliancepartspros.com or I can directly call samsung.

I just need to know what this part is called and if there is a way to get the part number somehow. Can anyone help please?

Bosch WFMC3301UC tub filling up with water each night....which part/valve is leaking water?

Hi All,

I have a Bosch Nexxt 500, WFMC3301UC that runs and washes fine, but each night the tub slowly fills with water. I have to run the "drain" mode on the daily manually each morning to clear the tub. The tub is clear after each wash, so i suspect there is some valve that is not closing fully letting my cold water past slowly filling the stainless tub. There are no leaks under the washer that i have noticed. If i turn off the cold water valve at the wall then the tub does not fill overnight (its a slow fill).

Does anybody know which part this might be? Thanks!

AEG LW1460 Water not heating

Hi there, AEG LW1460.

This washer has only a cold water inlet, and an internal water heater. However, the heating function no longer works. Otherwise all cycles complete normally.

- I opened the washer and tested the 230V 1950W element with an ohmmeter: 25Ω or so.
- The 4.8 kΩ NTC thermistor was an open circuit (infinite resistance).

I ordered the thermistor and installed it today. the new thermistor reads about 8.5 kΩ at a water temperature around 15ºC.

However, the washer is still not heating. The element continues to check out at 25 ohms or so.

One funny thing is that measuring AC voltage between either terminal of the heater element and ground gives me 120V, but voltage between the two element terminals is 0. I find that strange because this is a 230 V unit and the heater is stamped as 230 V as well.

Options:
1. Replace the element (includes another new thermistor) for around $200 CAD.
2. Call in the tech to diagnose properly for around $200 CAD + parts.
3. Any other ideas?

Would be very happy to have your views or any other options.

C

LG Washer WM2301HR Won't Start.

I had standing water so I changed the drain pump according to appliancepartspros video. It took me a week because I have a life and later needed a spring spreader. Once everything was finally together it didn't start.

I ensured the plug itself was working. I checked the plug was firmly inserted. And, I checked the circuit breaker. All wires were connected. I also tried a hard reset.

It was working fine up until the standing water and I hadn't started it up again until this point. Now I'm at a loss and hoping someone can help.

Samsung washer model WA422PRHDWR/AA stuck in spin cycle

So, my WA422PRHDWR/AA samsung washer has an issue where it just gets stuck in the spin cycle.

There's no abnormal sounds, it drains fine, it just spins and spins and spins. It has an estimated timer on that usually is in the ~15 minute range, but it'll stay there without changing for literally hours. Eventually I just get tired and turn it off manually.

The clothes come out mostly dry, maybe a little more damp than usual.

I've looked into basic troubleshooting, looked at diagnostic and calibration modes, and got a few unbalanced load errors in the diagnostic history. They rarely show up during normal use.

But nothing I can explain why it drains fine, but gets stuck in spin cycle.

My only thought is that the washer cylinder itself seems a bit wobbly. I posted a link to a video of it. Is it normal to have this much room to move the washer cylinder?

If it is not normal, how do I fix that?

LG WT4970CW UE cant solve

Top load washer, probably around 4 years old. It has a 413PN... serial so I believe that's with the newer control boards.

I get the UE code during the rinse cycle. Our older son used the speed wash all the time, and I never noticed him getting the error, but on normal and heavy duty washes the problem has gotten worse and worse, and now I cant get a load done.

I replaced the suspension rods, boom, first load with sheets not and a single problem. Was thrilled, but now it's worse than ever. I checked the stator nut on bottom, its tight. Washers balanced. I checked the water level pressure season tube that it's clear, and it is. I did notice the sensor had a rattle inside of it though.

I ran clean tub mode with nothing in the washer and it went through many cycles of of draining during the rinse cycle. I never pay attention to a normal wash, but it seemed like the pump was trying to drain water for a long time after the tub was already empty. Sign it might be the pressure switch?? It didnt through an error though even though it seem to go through many rinse cycles. I got tired of watching and I think it finally threw the UE in spin cycle.

I'm about to check the drain pump and hoses to make sure they're clear but anyone got any ideas? Maybe the water-level pressure switch, or something else related to UE?

Doesnt seem to be making odd noises

I have a weird problem with my Gorenje w6523 front loading washing machine.

I've bought it five years ago and it worked so far without a hitch. However, in the recent weeks it kinda just forgot how the liquids poured into it work. Let me explain that a bit better.

The washing liquid or powder are emptied from the reservoir and can be seen in the tub during the cycle, but the clothes are not cleaned after the cycle. Same goes for detergent / softener, filling the container up with softener would result in an all-enveloping great smell of fresh clothes while drying in the previous years, now nada. No flowery smell, no nothing. It kinda seems to me like the rinse or flush cycles happen prematurely, because judging by the end result the clothes are just spun around in warm water for two hours.
( at least the heating still works just fine )

I've tried the self cleaning program already, and after that the first one or two washes came out smelling just a bit like the softener if you were to smell it vigorously. But after that it's just wet spun clothes again.

There is no bad odour or any of the sorts, the internals look squeaky clean, the water jets above the cleaning solution reservoirs are clean, the reservoirs are clean and liquid can go through them without a problem.

So far I am out of ideas, any input appreciated.

New washer making noise

I do not like bein a pain in the a** buyer. At the same time I would hate to repair a brand new washer.

This happened the first time we used it. I have 15 days from delivery to exchange it.

Below is video of the noise. What should I do? Is this an easy repair? Will this be an issue in the futureeven if it is repaired?

Can it matter the dealer I bought it from? Got a really good price. Dryer is also having issues.

Seeking suggestion for a new washer

Hi folks,

My current Maytag washer is wearing down. It has a transmission problem that I've been muddling thru (only runs in low gear) and has now sprung a leak leaving a water trail to my basement floor drain. I fear I should replace it, but I'm VERY particular about what I'm looking for and I need some help with that.

#1 -- I DESPISE "High-Efficiency" washers! They are NOT "efficient"! I purchased a Kenmore HE washer once. HATED IT. It sits unused and unrepaired in my basement, and I won't make that mistake again. I want a washer that uses full loads of water -- gallons and gallons of it! I want my clothes CLEAN and RINSED, not damply tossed about to save some carbon footprint somewhere.

#2 -- I want a timer dial, NOT pre-determined wash cycles. I want to be able to stop my load and change the timer. "Oops! I'm running late. I'll shorten this wash cycle and spin it now!"

#3 -- BIG, BIG TUB! My husband is a big, BIG man. His blue jeans are 3x the size of mine. I need to be able to wash more than one pair of his jeans at a time.

#4 -- NO lid locks! My clothes are not convicts! I shouldn't have to break them out of a washer!

#5 -- Extra rinse cycle would be preferred.

Obviously, these are not common features anymore, so I have resorted to purchasing used equipment and running them till they die -- such as my current Maytag washer.

Is there a NEW washer ANYWHERE out there that will not hold my clothing hostage, that I can SEE on the dial how much time has elapsed because it can move and BE moved. Are there still GOOD washers out there that actually freely slosh clothing through gallons and gallons of water???

I was fooled once, but NEVER AGAIN! I had my head turned by a handsome Kenmore washer that CLAIMED to be "High-Efficiency" with a big, big tub, but that was a FARCE! There was NOTHING "efficient" about washing, washing, and rewashing the same urine-soaked bedding or gritty work pants over and over and OVER AGAIN!!!!!!!! I found no joy in having my clothing held hostage for HOURS on end with no indication when the cycle would EVER end! I want an "old-school" washer like my Maytag -- mechanical and reliable, no pansy electronics!

Anyone have a suggestion on how to put a happy ending on this "soap opera"???

Thanks!
~Mavis

Frigidaire Affinity Cycle Timing Issue

Hello I was wondering if someone could help me, I have a Frigidaire Affinity Washer and recently the wash cycle time would decrease to 3 mins about 2 minutes into the wash cycle. It doesn't make a difference what cycle is selected, if say the normal cycle is 45 mins. in total, at the 43 min. mark it would drop to 3 mins and then then cycle will count down the 3 minutes and finish. During the initial 2 minute period a small amount of water enters the machine and the drum would spin but then it drops to 3 minutes. Has anyone run into this issue? Thanks in advance!

Maytag washer making noise during agitation and spin

Mvwc425bw model maytag washer makes a sound that it never made before. It sounds like rubbing noise. Fills, spins, empties fine. The only error cod that comes up is F7E1, which says it's the basket speed sensor. Would that explàin the noise?

SAMSUNG WF455ARGSGR te error code

Hey guys,

I've been dealing with an issue on my SAMSUNG WF455ARGSGR washing machine that when it gets to the last 10 mins of a wash cycle, more often than not, it will throw a te code. The only way I've been able to work around this is my powering off the unit, then powering it back on, followed by holding in the spin cycle button for 3 secs and then let it drain several times repeating these steps, which result in the unit sort of completing the last cycle.

One thing I noticed when it's throwing te code, is there's a lot of water in the bed of the washer. We're also not overloading the unit either with clothes - sometimes I've only got 2 sweaters in there, and it'll throw this.

As far as troubleshooting, I've checked all the wires and I've replaced the thermal sensor, but this issue still remains.

It seems that this te code is quite common and I'm hoping someone has an idea on how to fix this.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Anyone have any advice

I was looking at the thread by Jyn and I have the same issue.
I have the above model Whirlpool Duet washer and the spider has broken.
My machine does list lifetime warranty on the stainless steel drum.

I called Whirlpool today and I guess, because unfortunately I live in Canada and have to deal with the Canadian office they are telling me that because I took unit apart to find cause (not to mention I don’t want to (nor can I afford ) pay exorbitant fees to have appliance tech come out to diagnose my lifetime warranty is now void.
They also say they will NOT supply parts under warranty for me to install because they are concerned about liabilities. But they certainly will sell me the parts to install myself.

The broken spider has caused the front tub to be chewed up and as far as I can see, the rear tub with seal should be replaced also.

Would anyone be able to give me some guidance?

Thank you in advance.

Trick for Removing tub springs

I am trying to pull the tub/drum from a samsung BigWash to do a postmortem (there is a grinding sound going on so bad sounding that i am.not even thinking of repair. I'm mostly just curious. Like if.my tenants' child slipped a toy car in there or something)

Is there a trick for Removing the springs the drum hangs from?

Some.videos show a clever system where you can rotate the plastic grommet at the top hook and drop it down.
This setup does not have that.

I expect I need to find a forked tool of some.kind to push down on the lower U hook. But maybe there is a smarter way.

WT5101HV Wash Plate Not Releasing from Drive Shaft Spindle

I have an LG WT5101HV Wave Force Top Loading Washer.

I need to replace the Washer Drive Shaft and Shifter Assembly. To do this I need to remove the Wash Plate and Wash Tub.

I have been following a Repair Clinic Video. The specific spot on the video appears at approximately 1:29 minutes of the 9:13 minute video.

It's a great video and very clear except they are demonstrating on a new washer where every part is easy to remove.

I have removed the Wash Cap and the 10mm bolt / screw securing the Wash Plate. But no matter how I try I can't get the WASH PLATE to release off of the Drive Shaft Spindle.

  • I have tried wiggling it from side to side.
  • I have placed coat hanger hooks into the 3 alignment holes for the Wash Cap and tried pulling it off.
  • I have place a polypropylene rope under and across the bottom of the Wash Plate so as to pull it loose.
  • I am pulling in both instances with such force that I can actually lift the Suspension Wash Tub up several inches. I do this in hopes of shaking or breaking the Wash Plate loose.

But still it will not break free.

Any suggestions please on how to release this Plastic Wash Plate?

Thanks

AWN432SP111TW01 Speed Queen washer stopped working mid-cycle

I have a Speed Queen washing machine model AWN432SP111TW01, serial 1110013649.

It's been working fine for years and we had never had any trouble with it, but today it stopped mid-cycle, and won't turn back on.

I tested another device in the same electrical socket and it worked fine. I ran an extension cord from an electrical socket in another room which was working fine and connected the washer to it, but still nothing.

I looked in the user guide troubleshooting section under "Won't Start". I have tried everything there. One of the suggestions there is to give it a few minutes for the motor overload protector to reset; I have given it hours.

The user guide does not mention a fuse in the washer.

I opened up the control panel area of the washer and looked for a fuse but did not find one. There was a sheet in there with a schematic. I scoured it for a fuse but it did not mention one.

I looked all over in there for anything that looked burned or otherwise damaged, or loose, etc. Everything looks as good as new and all connections seem tight.

Any suggestions on what I can try?
