Whirlpool will spin/won't spin mystery

First, it is not the timer, it is not the lid switch. Would that it were. This washer will mechanically spin, BUT, it does not initiate the spin after pumping. It WILL start to spin if I push in/pull out the timer knob. Sounds like the timer right? New one didn't make a difference.

Samsung WA45H7000AW Washer Can't Tell Lid's Closed - This 1 is A PitA!

Samsung WA45H7000AW 5.2 cu. ft. AquaJet recall special. She was manuractured in '14 I believe. I bought this washer the same way I have acquired hundreds of other Samsung & Whirlpool appliances.
Even so..I RARELY see bad locks on these. It's always a worn out inner spider support arm, weak springs, bearings/shifter a lot but not often do their malfunctions creep beyond those boundaries.
I've not given up, yet. Altho scrapping it would be satisfying, I don't work service all of the time. I can't make $70 & condemn some poor sucker's washer to the scrapyard. Morally, for that matter lol. If I cant fix something it comes directly out of my pocket.
For this reason I always strive to learn everything about this field. Whatever anyone with real experience in the same field as myself is willing to tolerate teaching me! Haha..so, anyway here's the entirety of the problem:
The washer doesnt cycle on at all. Ok - lid lock quickly came to mind. Diagnostic codes first &, sure enough, code d5. The Diva can't tell its lid is closed! Replaced switch in 10 minutes. Attempted again. SAME pitiful solo beep as last time followed by..notta.
Idk how 4, 5 and 6 wire switches work on the inside so any help would be great! 👍

Thanx

Whirlpool wtw4800xq2 WVM Flashing Light has led me to even more confusion

I have read so many threads concerning this flashing lock light when I tried to start a wash cycle.

At first, I thought it would be the part replacement related to the lock, but then the more you try to find out what to do when first diagnosing a problem the more you find out how there is more than one test you can run etc. I don't want to get in too deep as this is my first attempt at doing anything like this.

Can anyone tell me what is the first step in figuring out what the issue is?

It took me a week just to figure out how to run the self-test and I am not even sure if it is completing that test all the way.

Kenmore top load washer shaking like crazy

I have a kenmore washer that is shaking like crazy at the end of the spin cycle. I have checked the springs and they appear to be in good shape. The vertical on was starting to stretch out the hole, so I drilled a new hole and reattached the spring. This made very little difference. I also pulled the horizontal springs and pulled on them. By hand they all required the same force to stretch them. I did not scale test them. Other notes:

1) there is no bearing whir or whine
2) shaking only happens at the end of spin cycle when the water has drained.
3) appears to be worse when there is a larger load in it.

Below is a video of the washer shaking. (turn down your speakers, it's loud.)

Any insight is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Cabrio Washer Drum Removal

I for the life of me cannot get the drum off nor can I get the cast aluminum hub assembly off either. Is the hub on this unit one of the ones where you need the special wrench/tool to remove it? All of the videos I see for the Cabrio have plastic hubs that pull right off with no issue. (Yes I unscrewed it). I have tried everything to get the transmission off the tub with no luck. I even used the car jack trick and a 4x4 until it literally wouldn't turn anymore and nothing.

Who is the best at Diagnosis? Kenmore Series 9 Washing Machine

Complaint: No agitation in wash cycle. Symptoms arose recently. All other functions are operable and normal
Motor: Replaced about one year ago due to bearing failure. Motor runs in spin cycle. Motor OK.
Lid Switch: Replaced within last 12 months. Spin cycle works, stops when lid open, lid switch OK.
Motor coupler: Replaced a little over a year ago. Motor spins drum in spin cycle. Coupler OK
Cycle switch: Recently replaced with new part, no change.
Timer: Just replaced with used part. No change, unlikely that defective part would have same defect.
Case, mounting springs, all OK.
All components perfectly functioning.
Inspected and cleaned wiring connections to motor, no signs of arcing, no signs of damaged wiring.

Why won’t this agitate?

WM3570HVA LG front load washer dripping from top of boot

I’ve got an lg washer that leaks steadily some days from the top of the boot and then will turn around and not drip at all after you run some more loads. I can’t see that this is a boot problem bc it’s dripping straight down from the inlet valves and running into the drum. I can’t find any threads or videos with this problem and I’m at my whitts end with this trying to figure this mystery out. Any ideas from anyone?

Ok bare with me I'm new to this but I just bought a used ge stackable washer/dryer the previous owner just replaced the entire motor assembly kit so I'm Farley positive he didn't hook something up right but don't know where to begin. I already replaced the lid switch and I've reset the machine several times. It fills and drains fine I just can't get to agitate or spin it jerks a couple times after filling but then stops and the wash button starts flashing I have no clue where to start please help!

GE washer makes terrible noise

When we wash clothes, large and x large loads, our washing machine makes an awful noise when washing. It is agitating. It will not make the noise on small loads. It does not make any weird noises during the spin cycles. We decided to replace the belt. The noise did not stop.:( When I pull the wash tub towards me during washing the noise stops. Soon as I let go it starts again. The suspension rods seem okay when I test the tub. Before I start buying part after part, can anyone tell me what is causing this? As mentioned above the belt was replaced last weekend. I will try to post a video of the sound when I get home this evening. It is hard to describe the noise and I have yet to find a video of the noise on YouTube.

What part on my PCB is burning? LG TROMM WM2277HW washing machine

I'm trying to repair an LG TROMM WM2277HW washing machine. The machine threw an LE error and then stopped working all together (no lights, etc.). Plugging/unplugging the unit and initiating the reboot sequence did nothing to bring this back. But about 30 seconds after with the unit plugged back in, I noticed smoke from the PCB board.

The PCB board appears to be 6871ER1003C. I've isolated the part that's smoking (image below) but I don't know what this is or if it's repairable. Here is a snapshot of the PCB board. The white part centered in the red oval is the piece that is smoking

Is this repairable? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Kenmore HE4t Intermittent F06

Two weeks ago we started to get the F06 fault code. We got it to work for a couple of weeks but it returned again. After much research and troubleshooting it appears to be either the MCU or the motor itself. I checked the wiring and all connections and it appears to be fine. I pulled the MCU and DO NOT see any obvious damage or burn marks. I also did the ohms check on the motor between pins 1-3, 1-2 and 2-3 and all were above the nominal resistance of ~6 ohms at between 8-9 ohms. Based on what I have seen online the tach ohms are good and I can see a rise and fall when I spin the motor. I was initially leaning towards replacing the MCU, but because the issue is intermittent I'm thinking that it may be the motor. Am I right to think that if it was the board that it would be bad all of the time, or could that cause an intermittent issue as well? Thanks for the help!

Roper washer.. Can't figure pump out

Ok I have a new roper mod # rtw4516fw1.. Its not pumping water out.. I've checked everything. Took it apart nothing is clogged. It comes on and is getting 120v. I had it on and seen it spinning.. Now what I don't know is if its free spinning too much. I know some pumps I have messed with have a slight catch when you spin it by hand but this one does not. It makes a noise like when a bearing goes out. I guess I should've said this first but a power surge caused whatever is wrong with it. Maybe something to do with the windings . I'm thinking it's bad but I don't wanna just throw parts at it. It's getting hot too. Thanks

Maytag Model A511 - Spins, but won't dry properly

I have a nice old Maytag A511 washer that has done me well that came with my first home purchase 3 years ago. This is the first issue I have had with the washer - It appears to be spinning at a high rate, however the clothes are soaking wet at the end of the wash. I put the washer back on "Spin" and open and close the top a few times and it spurts out some extra water and gets a little extra water out of the clothes before I put them in the dryer. The drain tube that goes into utility sink is clear. I have attached some pictures and am looking for any kind of feedback before I start taking apart more things... Does anyone know if there is a lint / hair trap designed in this model - or the best place to check for blockage? Any other maintenance tips are also welcome!

Thanks for reading, I will attach a couple extra pictures in an additional post.

MAYTAG - Wash Light Stays On

Hello -- I'm hoping someone can help me with this issue -- My Maytag washer will begin filling for 3 seconds and then stop in sensing mode. Then after some minutes the wash light will come on and stay on. After several minutes, all lights will go out and the washer will begin emptying the water (not much to empty) and then shut off. Interestingly, if I start the "clean washer" setting it will fill with water and I"ll get through the wash cycle, the water will empty but when it gets to the rinse cycle it will sit for several minutes and do nothing. My washer model # is MVWC416F and I've had it a little over a year (of course the warranty ended last month). Thanks!!

WAT28401UC/17 Bosch Washer 500 Series Power Cord Too Short

I just bought a brand new Bosch 500 Series washer to replace a Bosch Axxis + washer. I have a Bosch Axxis + dryer that still works. The washer is 220V and connects to the dryer using a proprietary plug. The plug is too short to reach the socket in the dryer. I have seen that the Bosch 500 Series dryer is the same, so I would run into exactly the same issue if I purchased a new dryer. I would like to retain the current configuration, rather than purchase a stacking kit.

Preferably, I have thought of 3 options, but I don't know if any are safe/warrantied.
  1. Purchase an extension cord if such a thing exists and is safe to use
  2. Have an electrician replace the existing power cord with one 2 feet longer
  3. Install a 220V proprietary socket (I already have a free 220 V socket)

Are any of these off the table? I purchased the 5 year warranty protection, so I don't want to affect it. Are there other options?

Maytag centenial mvwc400xw4

Ive been troubleshooting this unit for a few days now. I was able to get into diagnostic mode and found three errors .One error showed a switch was engaged too long for more than 15 seconds, one showed fault in the lid lock, and one showed that it took too long to drain. The reason why I’m having problems with this unit is because it doesn’t seem to drain and spin. I tested the lid lock switch As per the technicians manuel the solenoid for the lid lock read the proper resistance and I checked continuity for both the lid switch and lid lock and both were OK in both positions to. I also checked everything in manual mode and everything seems to work properly I even Lifted the agitator and took apart the drain pump and there was no blockages. I seem to be at a loss as to what the problem could be especially since everything checked out in manual mode. Any advice?
