LG WM9000HVA (Wifi) versus LG WM8100HVA

Does anyone have an opinion between these two LG models?

The LG WM9000HVA (WiFi) has some reviews on Costco that indicate that the drum leaks after a year or so. Another possible downside is the buttons and knob are integrated into the door, so it may be more prone to breaking.

The LG WM8100HVA seems pretty solid, with the only downside being that it does not have WiFi or SmartThinQ capability.

Any opinions on which set to get? For the set, there's only about a $300 price difference.

Kenmore Washer

Kenmore washer I need to install a tub seal in this unit. It not a standard washer and only about 3 ft high. I can't find any video's on this unit. I don't know if I have to pull the transmission to get at the seal or it all can be done from the top of the unit. From break down it looks like the agitator comes out then the spin basket and then the tub. I don't know if there are bolts or if you have to pull the transmission out to get at the tub seal. This a washer that is very small and don't see many of this kind. Its in very small space. Please let me know if you can find a video or you can explain the break down to me. Any Idea's would be appreciated.

Bosch or ASKO Compact Washer/Dryer - want opinions

Folks,
I need your advice. We are going to be purchasing a new washer and dryer after our basement renovation is done. There are only two of us, and the laundry space is limited. So, we're looking at compact washer dryers. I was considering the Bosch 500 series - like the features and I have had good experiences with my Bosch dishwasher. But the salesperson at the appliance store suggested we look at ASKO. The have a different seal for the washer door that in the salesperson's opinion is less likely to result in the mold issues experienced by other front loaders. And, the dryer has several options. The Bosch dryer only has condenser non-vented option. The ASKO has three options: vented, condenser non-vented, and heat pump non-vented. But I can't find any information about ASKO washer/dryers from other sources except that their manufactured in Goranje, Slovenia, and that Consumer Reports rates them noisier than Bosch. Consumer reports ratings do not really address reliability, and there weren't many reviews at that site from purchasers.

Has anyone here had any experience with either of these and an opinion to offer? Much appreciation for any insights. Laura

Frigidaire Top Loader Washer,Belt Drive,No Agitation, but does Spin,etc--Timer or Motor Problem?

Frigidaire Washer & Dryer Stackable Combo, Top Loader,Belt Drive,Direct Reverse Motor,3/4 hp, Heavy Duty, Top Loader, 2 speed
Model number tag is unreadable! But I have entered a similar mdl no: FEZ831AS2,which has exactly the same cycle times, the Timer Terminals are labelled the same as mine & the Wiring Diagram is very similar to mine!

There is no problem with spinning, filling or draining in any cycle. The lid switch, lid lock & pressure switch all work.
The Block [Agitator Drive Hub] is not the problem.
_____________________________________________
SYMPTOMS:
After the tub first fills & agitation should begin: There is no movement of the timer, agitator, belt or pulley & no sound!
[no clicking of the timer,no motor humming or grinding]. Pushing & pulling on the timer to reset it doesn’t help.
The problem is the same For all 3 cycles [Delicate,Colors & Whites.]
--------------
NOTE:When this stalling happens: the Agitator Does Turn Properly when I manually push the belt & pulley clockwise,as for agitation.
---------------
I then have to manually advance the timer [past agitation] :
& the timer works properly to: 1] drain the tub, 2] spin ,3] fill for deep rinse

4] The same problem occurs during the second agitation of each cycle!
______________________________________________
QUESTION: Is this problem caused by the Timer? [the Timer IS #131758600]

OR... the Attachment 42093Attachment 42094 Direct Reverse Motor may be the problem, but the Motor does work in the Spin [CounterClockwise] direction,so it seems unlikely to fail in the Agitate [Clockwise] direction. The timer controls this reversal of motor direction.
-------------
I have attached my wiring diagram, which I understand farly well.

Maytag

This Maytag washer comes up with a HF code. I checked the water inlet valve, the flow sensor and Pressure sensor. The water valve are working and bringing the water into the machine. I not sure about the flow sensor I heard you can test it with a ohm meter. I don't what the resistance is suppose to be may someone will know how to test the flow sensors. The pressure sensor I know is o.k. for a fact. I can here it click when the pressure is right. No matter if I in quick cycle or regular cycle the machine will come up with a HF code. Please help this is a real problem. If anyone can help let me know. :(

The diversity among the cleaner wash

The residential and professional cleaning chemicals are diverse. The professional chemicals help save potential cost by purchasing the bulk form while doing the combination themselves. While if you are cleaner wash type buyer and have no plans for the daily usage probably you need to buy in smaller quantities. Since many of the buyers end up purchasing the pre mixed solutions paying higher costs for less. How one can differentiate between the premixed and raw solutions?

Samsung WA400PJHDWR - sometimes starts & completes load, mostly won't start

Purchased in July of 2014, has been fine until last year. One day the washer would turn on and make like it was going to work, but the load wouldn't start. The door locked, but the cycle wouldn't start. I powered the machine off and back on, but the door stayed locked. I unplugged the washer and plugged it back in, and got my load out. Put it back in, and the washer started.

From then on, the washer has been acting steadily worse. It will mostly not start a load until maybe the 15th time powering off, powering on, start, then nothing, power off, power on, start, nothing, etc. Then it will start and either do the complete cycle or stop at some part of the cycle and not do anything else, typically with a decent amount of water in it.

I've had the springs replaced on the washer a year ago, as we were warned it would start throwing error codes when the load got too heavy. That was $150. Should I look into repairing this problem (from my research, looks to be a bad control board, part only is $218.40), or look into purchasing a new washer? If I should look at a new one, I don't want to spend more than 700, so what should I go with?

Subreddit r/appliancerepair suggested replacing the lock mechanism. I'm doubtful that would cause the problem of the machine stopping mid-cycle. That said, this isn't my profession.
Thanks very much.

Whirlpool Cabrio General questions about rotor and stators

Hi All - Appreciate the help with improving my mechanical skills! First some background info, In the beginning, I gathered up at least 2 spare Cabrio WTW6600SW1 washers as they were unfixable for many, and they were selling them for either nothing or like $50. I stripped one and kept one in tack. My spare is like brand new but has the F51 error. My own Cabrio that I purchased new continues to run, although I have replaced bearings a few times, control boards, the lid! No major error codes to speak of...Anyway, my most recent problem was bearings. I have changed them few times; the last time was in 2014, so I think I am getting better at this job lol. Unfortunately, my individual parts are not holding up well. My stator has 3-4 stress cracks, which run almost to the exterior. I did not have a replacement without cracks available so I just reused the stator. This has not stopped the washer from working with no errors but my guess is that this will eventually fail? IÂ’m guessing that anyone that has taken these apart have some experiences with cracked stators and what I can expect. In addition, my next issue was the rotorÂ…When taking everything apart, the rotor would not come off the shaft. When I loosened the bolt with an allen key, it came all the way out of the rotor and the rotor never moved. I pulled and pulledÂ… I tried prying around the circumference gently and also tried other methods but could not get it off. I had a spare so I decided to cut around the shaft and broke the rotor away from the shaft to remove. This was not fun! I was looking for advice as to how to avoid this in the future? Can I lubricate the splines to make it easier to remove in the future? Perhaps if I improperly installed it in the first place, that was why it would not come off. I have not replaced the shaft, just the bearings and the lip seal. Has anyone experienced rotors that would not come off or is this a problem that I created? Do you think that a leaking seal would cause the rotor to stick to the shaft? Thanks in advance for any tips regarding this repair as I want to keep this washer as long as possible but I am running out of parts!

Samsung WF42H5000AW/A2 washer PCB/Sub Issue? No power

Hi guys/gals, I need some help!

\- Samsung WF42H5000AW/A2 front-loading washer purchased \~3 years ago

\- My Samsung washer died last week and I was able to diagnose a bad PCB (power from wall to filter to main board, but no blinking LEDs on main PCB or Inverter board). I replaced the PCB with a new one, and now I have a red blinking LED on the Main PCB, a green blinking LED on the inverter board BUT when I press the power button I hear a "click" (relay) and then ... nothing. The display does not light up, and I am unable to get the washer to do anything. Once I unplug it, the relay clicks again. I am not able to make the relay click again using the on/off switch. All connections are tight.

The [Main PCB board](http://appliancepartspros.com/samsung-assy-pcb-main-dc92-01621e-ap5916794.html) they shipped me looks slightly different, but the website said it's compatible. Do I need to "flash" or "reset" it after installation? I just plugged it up without doing anything else.

Any ideas here, or did my display/controls die too? Sub-PCB - is this display PCB compatible with the main board?? Should be ....

Appreciate any help you can give. I don't want to drop more $$ on the [display board](https://www.appliancepartspros.com/samsung-assy-pcb-sub-dc92-01622j-ap5916803.html) if I don't have to!

Weird gasket found inside drum, washer doesn’t leak, but noisy

So my friend tells me her washer is making loud noises when spinning. I figure its shocks are going or gone. Go have a look and no, all 4 are functional and fine. She turns it on and cycles it with a small load inside. As soon as it hits a spin cycle it sounds like a runaway train. Noise is coming from the drum area - definitely not the shocks. As I’m looking it over she says that she found something in a load of laundry recently. Brings out this odd looking gasket. Never seen one like it. Thing is about 5ft long, has triangular attachment tabs at regular intervals, and is clearly split in one spot and must have come loose at some point and got pulled into the drum. But where did it come from? Better yet, why is there no replacement part that looks anything like it? I’ve been up and down every part shop on the internet, US and Canada, no match. Anyone ever seen one of these (see photos)? If so, any idea what the part number might be?Click image for larger version.  Name: 9A1CFEA5-EC53-48B1-B758-3A1DC619EF36.jpg  Views: 0  Size: 152.2 KB  ID: 41969

Maytag MVWX655DW1 Grinding agitating

Hi my 3 year old Bravos washer died last week and by the help of this site I found out it was a bad Shift Actuator. So I got one and replaced it last night then when I started a load all hell broke loose. Anytime is agitates it sounds like an horrible grinding or chainsaw starting up like this link but even more violent https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEUgdIP_Acs ... I took the guard off and the pulley bolt is on tight so its not that, and again its a brand new Actuator on there so I am at a loss. Maytag of course wont help me without charging $100 to come look at it, at that price I can buy a new one for a $450. Thanks for any help you can give.

Maytag MVWC425BW0 don’t getting out of sense

Maytag Centennial won’t get out of sending mode. Replaced the actuator and ran calibration mode and it looks like it’s moving and working. Ran diagnosis and the main codes (F7 E5 and F7E6) also and f7e1... they are pointing at the clutch failure or drive motor. When I run it through a cycle the actuator moves and clicks, and when the motor spins it’s for a very brief moment. This tells me the clutch is disengaging and the motor works. Not a master mechanic, never fixed one of these but I’m thinking the capacitor isn’t giving it enough power to kick over?? Please help

My friend has a Maytag MAH5500BWW Front Load Washer.
It sems to work fine, but when you turn the drum manually, you can hear water swooshing around.
I have had front loaders before but could not hear water like this. I have one (Kenmore) at another house that we own
and there is no swooshing water.
I removed the hose to the pump from the bottom of the drum, but no more water came out.
Is this normal for this machine?

Maytag Neptune Error Code E3

Hoping for some last minute information. I have a Maytag Neptune washer, model MAH6700AWW. It has been displaying error code E3. In my research, E3 is either the control panel or the Hall Sensor. The drum moves without any problem. Motor works, etc. The error code is displayed at the beginning of the Rinse/Spin cycle. A lot of sites mentioned checking the connections and wiring harnesses. The other day I opened it up and did that. I plugged the machine back in and started a wash cycle. It worked just fine. During the second load, the error code popped up. I unplugged it, let it sit for 15 minutes, plugged it back in and started a new cycle which worked just fine. This happened 2 more times where unplugging it apparently reset the error code and I was able to finish the cycle. Any thoughts on what might be causing this and what I can do to remedy it??? If the Hall Sensor or control panel needs to be replaced, I don't think it's worth it as I can purchase a whole new washer for $200 more. Thanks in advance for any help or insight you can provide!

GE washer stuck in drain mode

I have seen this for other models but not this one. Washer is stuck on Drain mode. I have tried to reset with the lid thing and have also put water in the washer and let it drain but it will not flip out of mode. When i see the fault codes it flashes drain and spin at same time, as well as pause and lid lock.

Reading other threads and it states I need the washer to be in idle mode. Not sure how to get there.

My whirlpool WTW8000de stopped mid cycle, just before the rince and spin part of the cycle. I’ve pulled power to reset the washer. Now when I try to restart the rinse and spin cycle the washer door locks the the tub turn a little then stops. At that time the power light and lid lock light start flashing. What could be my problem? Is there an easy quick fix? My washer is full of clothes and water at this time.

Washer won't fill - pressure switch?

My 5 year old Kenmore Elite Top Loading won't fill. I may have narrowed it down to the pressure switch but want someone more experienced to confirm for me.
I had read online that when I connect my multi-meter set for resistance to these two outside terminals (as shown in photo) I should get a resistance of 1. Then when I blow in the tube it should change. Well immediately when I attach the terminals I get a resistance of almost zero. I don't need to blow at all. Does this mean I need to replace my pressure switch?

Thanks!

Earth leakage fault rectified by tilting the machine back 45 degrees!

Very strange this one.

- No leaks.
- Motor all checks out.
- Heating element checks out (although I notice there are wear marks from the drum rubbing it. They are superficial marks for now.)

Works ok with no load in it. But with a load will randomly trip the ELCB.

Once it trips, as soon as the machine is turned on anywhere in the cycle it instantly trips the ELCB. But if you tilt the machine right back 45 degrees, it 'resets' it, and will work again.

Drum is 'clanking' loudly on fast spin cycle too.

Anyone any ideas what is going on? Any insights much appreciated. Thanks.

Water temp is too cold

Kenmore Elite, 796.29002000, doesn't fill with warm/hot water as selected. All hoses have been clear of foreign matter. Screens have been cleaned, Solenoids (both hot & cold) measure about 29 ohms resistance (no opens or shorts).
When selected to "whites", program preselects to hot (wash)/cold (rinse). After tub fills to determined level the temp is somewhat cold (approx 81°F). I even tried another load selecting "heavy duty" and "stain boost" trying to increase water temp, but obtained about 91°F.
The service manual (pg 10) states hot should be approx 120°, warm approx 90° and cold approx 66°.
The measured hot water supplied is approx 135° (hot H2O tank is about 10 ft away).
During fill, the hot water flows and sometimes shuts off after 30-45 sec or so.
No error codes and I performed the QC test. seemed fine.
I'm now wondering if the thermistor, which I understand monitors water temp, is deteriorating and sending incorrect data to the main control board which in turn controls the hot/cold supply via energizing the respective solenoids on the inlet valve assy. Everything else works fine.
FYI...the main control board was replaced last year (no power, no lights, no nothing)

Any thoughts? Can thermistors have an effect on water temp?

Samsung front load washer WF365BTBGWR/A2 balancing problem

Hi everyone,

I have a problem with Samsung front load washer WF365BTBGWR/A2. It is 6 years old. Over last several months it became unbalanced during spin cycle and started to vibrate. One day, there was a very loud noise (like explosion) inside during medium speed spin, so I turned it off and took apart. The top balancing weight broke into 2 pieces, and one piece fell down jammed between the side wall and plastic tub. The bottom piece also broke in half, was still in place, but also had multiple cracks. I took the entire machine apart, replaced the balancing weights, both bearings, and the oil seal. Bearings actually did not look bad. After I put it all back together it has become much better, but the problem is that it still vibrates during spin, especially at some intermediate RPMs.

I see that during wash and light spin the metal drum "shakes" as it is out of balance. This is visible even if I just turn the drum by hand if I look at the edge. I don't think I had this issue before, so something must be wrong. However, I did not see any other visible damage putting it together. The bearings are new, the shaft seems straight, the drum looks round, and all supports seem ok. I noticed that when I was putting the tub together the metal drum inside spins without any shakes if I take the large plastic white ring off of it. If I put it on, I feel that it becomes unbalanced.

The plastic ring on the front of the metal drum apparently is another balancing ring. The one I have seems to have rollers inside, some others have fluid. The rollers seem to roll and make some noise when I tilt the ring, but I can't take it apart, it is all sealed. There is no visible damage to it, but if I spin the drum by hands, I hear the rollers move around.

How can I figure out why my metal drum is unbalanced at intermediate RPMs? The problem with this unbalancing is that the machine spins fine only with very light load. If the load is a bit bigger (even half tub) it vibrates and shakes at medium spin.

Thanks.

Whirlpool Washer not Spinning

Greetings,

My Whirlpool WTW5000DW0 Washer is not working properly. It no longer will spin and gives an F7E1 error code. I checked all drain hoses for clogs but everything looked normal. I ran through the diagnostics and the agitation and everything else appears to be working.

I tried replacing the shift actuator but I am still having the same issue. Any ideas of what else could be causing the issue or what I should try?

Maytag SG1000 leaking!

I have an older Maytag SG1000 stackable washer/dryer. I've replaced a few parts on it over the years and it has been generally very reliable. It has recently started leaking and I'm stumped as to why. When I start a new large load wash cycle the tub fills up as it should. there are no leaks from the water inlet to the tub. When the wash cycle starts however, it seems that water from the tub is getting forced back up the inlet hose and starts pouring out of the area around the water injector. Now if I run a small load the water does not get pushed back though the inlet hose, rather it backs up through the bleach inlet hose.

Im at a loss as to what could be causing this. Has anyone had this issue before?

Thanks
-Mike
