LG WM2487HWM Leaking from the heating element

I just replaced the bearings on my LG WM2487HWM and everything went well, expect it is now leaking around the housing of the heating element. It only seems to be held in there by the tension between the rubber seal inside the element housing and the tub opening (no screws). So, I have 2 questions: 1) Is the water inside under pressure? if not, can I use a small amount of something like "Flex Seal" around the outside of the tub and inside the lip of the housing, to help create a better seal? BTW, I already have done it, just want to know if I screwed up before I test it tonight, I have tipped the tub forward and no water is coming out now, so I feel pretty good about it. Thanks in advance. Brandon

WM3470HVA LG Washer not spinning, "grinding" sound.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRLZZCsQ1iA

My washer is making the sound in this video, a grinding that seems to be coming from the back center or bottom. The tub is not spinning. It was half way through a cycle, the contents are soaking wet currently. I just sits there making this sound until you shut it off.

Any idea on what this is?

Maytag Neptune MAH5500BWW Beeps and lights flash

I have a Maytag Neptune washer (Model MAH5500BWW)(Ser A9704374EN) that recently began beeping and flashing lights randomly. After unplug/plugging in all the lights come on then it starts beeping randomly while none of the buttons work. The beeping frequency seems random and goes from constant beeping to sometimes stopping altogether then restarting periodically. None of the buttons seem to ever work.

From my research it seems like its either the control board or the membrane control panel. Unfortunately both are in the $200 price range and the recommended control board is listed as "not available" on most sites. There is another LED control board that is sometimes recommended but I'm not sure what the difference is. A lot of sites say no returns on electrical parts after you've hooked them up so I'm hesitant to trial and error the parts to find the right one.

Any idea on what the problem is or what parts I should order? Thanks!

Kenmore Top Loading Drive Pulley and Belt rubbing on guard

My nephew has a Kenmore 110.22352510 top loading machine which is just outside of warranty. The machine is making a lot of noise when ever the drive motor turns. I flipped the machine over and see the guard over the drive assembly is badly worn. The drive assembly is rubbing on the guard. This machine is notorious for having a nut on the washer drive pulley loosen allowing the assembly to drop and rub on the guard. I checked the nut and it feels tight, but if I grab the washer drive pulley and try to move it in what would be the up and down direction when the machine is upright the assembly does move back and forth. There is about a quarter inch of play. Does anyone know if this means the washer drive pulley needs to be replaced?

For now I left the guard off and it's running fine.

WF350ANR Samsung Front Load ND Error, Checked 99%

Samsung ND Error

Will Not Drain

1) Checked Ohm 4.1,
2) Flushed Grey Discharge Tube
3) Pulled Motor left hooked up electrically, watched impeller turn
4) Was going to repull and check Black Drain from bottom of drum to pump, but water comes out of drain at 100 miles an hour, so my inclination is the black tube is fine if water is making it to the pump in massive quantities...

Help !, Washer fills up, washes and doesn't drain out... was once in a while, but now its is totally down, not draining...

Could it still be the pump motor if I see the impeller turn??? If anyone has any experience, Ive been hating to throw money at a new pump...

TIA

GE Top Load HE/Running continuously/won't stop!

Age: 18 months
Last use: 3 days ago (no issues)

Woke up at 5AM to sound of empty washer running continuously. Attempted to shut off using power button, did not stop. Unplugged. Allowed to sit for 2 hours.

Plugged back in, began continuous running again. Attempted to reset via lifting lid up/down x 6, did not stop. Attempted reset via turning cycle button counterclockwise/clockwise, didn't stop.

Have contacted GE for service call; appt in 1 week. I desperately need to reset the washer as I had surgery and can't drive/go to the laundromat.

HELP!! Any assistance would be appreciated!

LG WT1101CW won't spin

My top load LG WT1101CW won't spin fast at all. It did display the 'UE' error code & we did re-balance the load.
Now it will do a slow spin. That is unless we shut it off & then restart using a 'spin cycle' only.
It was purchased 10/2013 so of course there is no warranty left.
Any help to troubleshoot - repair will be appreciated.

WM2016CW LG - LE Error Code. Drum only spins in one direction.

Hello.

I have an LG WM2016CW with and LE error code.

When empty, the drum will spin in one direction (counter clockwise). Just shakes a little when trying to turn clockwise.

When loaded with towels, it just shakes a little in each direction, and sometimes turn clockwise.

Spinning tub by hand, no resistance either way.

Would a hall sensor cause this issue, or where should i start?

Thanks!

ESTATE Washer will not spin, hums, will fill with water, wont drain

I have an 8 year old washer, Estate, Model# etw4400wq0. Last night it filled with water for a normal wash cycle, then stopped. When I turned it on there was a persistent humming, audible but not alarmingly loud which appears now to just be the motor trying to run, but it cant. I've spent several hours between last night and this morning on line and trying to troubleshoot the issue. I have found the Lid switch to be good, unit fills with water, motor works fine when unattached from the shaft, visually inspected the inside of the pump to be good and turned it easily with a screw driver. I found the direct drive motor coupling easy to move counter clockwise for the agitator easily, but it took a couple of minutes for me to be able to move it clockwise for the drum. Once I did that, I put everything back together and turned it on. The spin cycle worked for several seconds while a louder humming came into play, i turned it off and then back on. At that point it was back to the humming, no spinning.

Once I manually moved the drum from underneath the unit, it worked for several seconds, made a louder humming noise at which point I shut it off, turned it on and I was back at square one.

I took a picture of what I found online referring to what I spun clockwise to get the drum moving and took an actual picture of the piece I'm talking about.

I don't know much about any of this and this is where my troubleshooting ability about ends. Any help would be greatly appreciated, THANKS!

Burning smell from washer

Hi My washer is the type that you click on the button and it starts that way. Washes great. I guess you would call it computerized. When it ends the green light shows up done and that's fine but when I open the lid the lid lock button which would turn red comes on and blinks, I have to unplug and plug back in to get it off, but I can open it. I usually only use the other cycle which would be to just spin again and when I turn the knob to that and click on it , it does its thing but again at the end the door lock blinks but this time I smell like a burning smell coming from it so all I have to do is pull out the plug and plug back in and then it stops. does this sound critical something I might be able to do myself or repair from assistant. could you please help?

Ge Washer not working

I recently purchased this unit at lowes on clearance, it was so cheap I couldn't refuse it. . I was told that it worked however when I got it home it is not working. The front panel lights up and the first time I tried to use it , it filled with water and went through a couple of rotations and then just went to sleep. The front door locked and would not release . A Ge tech came by and released the door manually , looked around noticed that the diverter was stuck in the "4" position , unplugged it and plugged it back in but got no reaction and then told me to return the unit to the store.

I figured I would make an attempt to get the unit working prior to returning it. I found a training bulletin and tried to get the unit into service mode by pressing and releasing "temp, ewash, temp, ewash" within 30 seconds of plugging in the washer , however there was no response.

When plugged in the power and other lights go on. When I press start the panel displays a time and cycle . I counts down and the display changes the cycle but nothing happens. The door does not lock unless I press the lock button

Is there any hope for this unit , or is it a door stop ???

WT1101CW OE error code on LG washer - won't drain, pump motor works when connected to outside source

LG washer gets to spin cycle and won't drain. OE code is displayed. Manual says for safety reasons, washer will automatically drain in 4 minutes after OE code is shown. This did not happen. Drained the machine with hose & manually scooped it out. Checked drain hoses (at proper height) and found no clogs. Called LG and used SmartDiagnosis and result was "call local LG service rep for repair." Continued to try to figure this out on my own. Drain pump motor spins when connected to outside power source. Checked PIN connections on control board. No visual problems. What's next??? Sure would like to avoid service call.

Kenmore 90 Series Spin problem - video

We have already replaced the coupler after having issues with the tub spinning during the spin cycle but that did not fix the problem. It works fine during the agitate cycle. Then for the spin cycle, it starts to drain and you can hear the motor going but the tub doesn't spin until I stop it and restart. I posted a video to show exactly the issue. Please let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks.

LG WT1001CW Washer has bad smell, but not mildew smell, and sand/dirt in tub

We have a "new to us" LG WT1001CW that has some sand/dirt in the tub, and a pretty bad smell. We have run the Tub Clean twice, and the mildew odor is gone, but the other smell remains. I believe it is an odor from wet items that were used in Austin's waterways, where the water has come into contact with lots of Limestone. It is almost like a fishy type of smell, like seashells. Also, the first time we used it, there was sand and grit left on the clothes.

What is the best way to make sure there is not a lot of sand left in the inside of the tub? I don't see a pump filter on this unit, and no access if there is one. I am thinking that I remove the agitator plates cap, and remove the bolt and lift up the agitator plate, but I am not sure if there is any space under that that would have collected dirt/sand.

Looking for suggestions on where to find the smell causing debris because we cannot walk around in clothes if they smell like seashells.

Whirlpool Cabrio Washer filling with water after spin cycle.

I got in a Whirlpool Carbrio washer. The drive belt was stretched and worn and had covered the underneath in black gunk. I figured the belt was the issue and replaced it. I started the washer up and there are a few symptoms.

First it seems to slip occasionally on some of the spinning.

I am not sure if its normal but just before each time it goes to drain it makes a grinding noise.

The oddest thing was just after the spin cycle had finished, it completely filled the washer half full of water on the normal cycle before I finally shut it off. There are so many symptoms I don't know where to start with this one.

Ran diagnostics and came up with these......

LG WT4801CW Squeaks during agitation

This thing has just worked so well for a long time! I don't want it to die! It has started squeaking before during agitation and then stopped for many months. Now it's back to it again. Is anyone familiar with this washer/series and know a solution? I'm handy, but not experienced with fixing washers so some wisdom and knowledge imparted would be appreciated.

Thanks!

WT5101HV Someone please help...... LG washer leaking......

So my LG washer top loader developed a leak after moving houses. I have disassembled most of it trying to find the culprit. Checked the water level pressure switch, it's not over filling and the water shuts off as soon as I remove electrical power. Took the hose off and made sure it wasn't clogged and good seals. Took the complete tub assemble apart, washer spin basket, washer basket balance ring, washer tube ring. Thought maybe a draining issue, so I took apart the pump and made sure the hoses and mother were working properly. But it seems to drain well. I noticed the bleach dispenser was constantly getting water and focus on that part. Took the hose off from the bleach dispenser and made sure it was patent. removed inspected and cleaned the soup & leash dispenser. Took apart the water inlet valves and cleaned them out, made sure every orifice was patent. That didn't solve it so I opted to replace the water inlet valve for a new set. But the problem persist. At first I thought it was coming from the bleach dispenser getting filled, wish still could be. I disconnected the bleach water valve but it continued to leak, but didn't seem to fill the bleach dispenser. I don know that the water is coming out of what appears to be an overfill drain in the left back of the washer (refer to picture). I have stuffed napkins up there in an attempt to stop the leak but that isn't resolving the problem. I am at a lost, well at least for the moment. If anyone has any suggestion that I haven't tried or try again or hopefully the same problem with a resolved experience, I would greatly appreciate it. Oh yeah I contacted LG and the have no idea and can only refer me to a technician to come do the exact things that I have already done but charge me.

WM3270CW LG Washer Excessive Draining

So I've been having issues an LG washer, which is less than a year old. I had an LG tech come and check it out, and he said it's operating fine. I can't say for certain if it's been doing this since I bought it, but definitely within 2 months of buying.

I took a video of an entire wash/rinse/spin cycle - 58 minutes. I counted how many times the drain pump came on and off, and it was around 85 times!

For the most part, the pump will come on for about 3 seconds while agitating, turn off for about 5 seconds, and repeat. It sounds like it doesn't stay on long enough to get the suds out of the drainage tube, as you can hear them bubbling back down the tube each time the pump shuts off.

The clothes do not come out soaking wet, so that's not an issue, but it is rather annoying listening to that pump for an hour, and I can help but think it'll wear prematurely.

Can someone confirm/deny whether this is normal operation?
