I am trying to remove the inner tub because the drive block is completely worn down and the tabs from the drive tube have nothing to fit into. The problem is that the tub will not break loose. The drive block is loose, but I cannot get the inner tub to budge. I've banged on the upper part of the inner tub with a hammer, thinking if it was rusted the banging might break the rust loose, but nothing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I didn't enter a model number because the top of the washer is from a Kenmore, and obviously has the wrong model number, since the control panel is Whirlpool. That being said, on this particular problem the model number is not really needed.
