Basket seems to be stuck on my Maytag Atlantis Washer, 3 pulley single belt.
Will agitate great, but on spin cycle, the basket and agitator does not move. Motor is fine, water pumps out great. However, on spin I cant budge the basket at all...everything is stuck. I regreased my original washer stack with pin bearings and no luck. There is alot of tension in the pulley.
When I turn the center pulley counter-clockwise, I believe the brake is above the center pulley. In alot of videos describing thrust bearing replacement, I see the brake turning with the pulley when spun counterclockwise, to check slippage however the brake above the pulley doesnt move at all, like its siezed closed almost on my machine. But when I watch some vids showing to turn counterclockwise to check if the arrows stop in between the marks on the pulley I see the metal piece which I assume is the brake moving with it, mine doesnt move at all on my washer not one little bit.
Im about to order the plastic gear for the transmission and try to change it thinking its stripped, but I was wondering if it agitates is the gear okay inside the trans? Or on spin does the trans release, or engage that plastic gear? Or is that gear just for agitate cycle and on spin it disengages somehow?
Thanks for any help at all...
