Kenmore Elite Front loading Washer spewing water from detergent holder

Have had close to 5 years and thankfully no real problems but now the water redirecting out of the detergent holder instead of into the washer is making life a little messy!

I tried unscrewing the tray and reinstalling but that didn't help so I'm thinking I'll have to pull the thing out now and mess with it but wondered if anyone has heard of this happening?
