Fisher & Paykel IWL12 inner tub floats too high

I just had to replace the bearings in my my Fisher & Paykel IWL12, but now when the inner tub floats up, it presses against the neck ring at the top, which is causing water to splash out the back when the recirculating hose is spraying.

I also just ordered a new diverter valve because I think it is stuck on divert and wont drain.

So two questions....
1) is the inner tub supposed to float up that high (I never paid attention before), and if not, are there any recommendations on how to get...
