WM2650HWA Leaking out of drain filter

Hi I have a LG WM2650HWA front load washing machine. My daughter washed a dirty small rug in it and afterwards noticed leaking from small compartment in front lower where the drain filter is. I removed drain filter and the was some small pebbles in area. I clean as best I could. I bought a new drain filter. Put it in and it’s still leaking. Very strange.
