Maytag Washer (2018 purchase) MHW6630HC0

We have the above washer and have an E1F9 code that suggests the unit isn’t draining properly. Took off the back to check drain/filter and the filter is facing the front of machine, all the way at front (not accessible from back). The front appears to require the control panel to come off, door seal to come off, and door to come off in order to pull off the panel that allows access the filter. This seems crazy!
