Maytag Top loader Sometimes Won't Drain In Spin Cycle

I have a Maytag top loader washer that sometimes will not drain in the spin cycle. If you pull the plug, walk away from the unit for a couple of hours, plug it back in, and pull the knob out, it will spin, drain, rinse, and then final spin to complete the wash cycle. When you get to this point, you would never know there was a problem.

I removed the agitator to make sure nothing was obstructing its movement. I next went to the pump, removed both hoses to make sure there were no clogs. I cleaned the motor ground wire to the frame. Next inspected the two belts and pulleys which rotated freely by hand. I installed an extra lid switch that I had available. A few years ago I changed the Tub Bearing along with the inner and outer tub due to my well water.

I played with the load settings, from small to extra large and from 12 minutes to 6 minutes settings. If you use smaller loads and time settings, it will complete a full cycle. But it you put in an extra large or a large load, it will stop at the spin cycle. The only other symptom is an occasional burning smell at the spin cycle.

Looking forward to all suggestions on how to repair this Maytag washer.
